Hi guys!

Thinking of buying 1 Portsea Road but there's a weird empty house stuck to the side of the house (it used to be rented out apparently but it seems pretty run down:help: at the mo). It's as though it's been built in the garden of one of the Dykes Hall Road houses... Does anyone know anything about this house or what to do to find out who owns it or whether it's being repossessed by the council, etc.?

It belongs to the building on dykes hall that used to be the shop, which closed down more than 10 years ago now. I think the people who owned the shop used to have tenants or relatives living in it at the time. The property which recently had the shop front changed back to a residential look, has had 'for sale' signs many times before and I have seen that this property is listed as a 'granny flat' and is for sale with the shop.

Thanx for info!!! Is the ex-shop the house that's on Dykes Rd and in whose garden the house is? Now it makes sense... it seemed rather strange.

yes, the ex shop is the last building before the road across from the castle. and yes the weird house is in that garden. the best thing to do would be to see if the for sale board is still up on the ex shop, phone the number on it and ask them what is happening. Also it should show up on your searches if you decide to go for the house.

There's no sign on it... well, there wasn't when I went past yesterday!

Can't find the house up for sale on the internet either... maybe it's just been sold. anyway, thanx for the information. I'll continue the investigations into the mystery house!
