I know you think I'm kidding, but, having 3 cats I have to protect the wildlife around here somehow.

Saw a Sparrowhawk last winter 15 meters away at ground level, across the road last winter.

He would have made mincemeat of our "Man About Town" Moggie. :D

Oi! that's cheating. I wonder if they add in a cheat factor. Last year I remember counting a couple that nearly came into the garden!!

I know this is gonna sound a tad sad...

But i have bird watched before from my bedroom window in my younger days that is... i used to be really good with naming different birds a tad rusty now tho :(

Well i guess you can call that a confession  :hihi:

Only time the feathered things come in the garden when there's food around. There are plenty of cats in the area so I suppose they are reluctant to land.

They wouldn't scare a Sparrowhawk away, they are massive...couldn't believe how vicious they look, and how large, on the ground. Last summer we had 2 Tawny Owls settled on top of next door's TV aerial.... they were really big too. our "Man About Town" cat was out. We were concerned they would decimate him. Anyway he had more sense than to show himself to them............he's kipping on our bed as I type.............

Could you hear them hooting in the night, I find it a bit creepy waking at 2am and hearing an owl hooting away.

Come to think of it I did. Mind you the next-door neighbours did sleep with their bedroom window open:D
