Hi all,
Am 29 year old girl learning to play tennis, but have no-one to practise with (all my buddies bike, long board, prefer squash, basically don't like tennis!), anybody interested? Bit of fun, nothing too serious..walkley, crookes or that kind of area would be best, but got car so no biggie, and am pretty flexible time wise...

I might be up for this too....
I currently play tennis once a week indoors at Graves but I'd gladly fit in another game every so often I reckon?!

Not sure I could afford to spend the money on another indoor court though (£16 a pop!) but if you dont mind bracing the elements, I'd be happy to play outside?! (Light permitting of course!)

I play at Graves tennis centre too but not since outdoor weather got too bad.

I'm happy to play people at beginner level (i'm not that good myself).
Depending on elements, if it's dry I don't mind using an outdoor court.

If you go at the weekend during the evening (i.e. Fri or Sat Evening) you'll findit's off peak and if you can just turn up and there is a court available you can get a pretty good walk on rate at graves.

Just let me know, I'm happy to play whenever (so long as it's after work).

Im ok - my serve is rubbish but I can generally get the ball over the net!!
Im not too fit either so usually end up red faced and sweaty - attractive I know!!

I can hold my own, my serve is also pretty ropey.
Last summer I started to play more often and was going 3 times a week with my mate but when the weather tailed off we haven't been since.

I'm by no means good, but I'm not the worst either.
I'm a 27yr old fella by the way, and am NOT physically fit at all so plenty of huffing and puffing from my side. Not usually found wheezing, but you never know.

I joined the ITI membership scheme which gives me free outdoor court access because I was playing so much.

Just drop me a PM when you fancy a game (outdoor or indoor) and I'll see what I can do.

Well...eager beginner right here. PM me if you feel like sorting something out, don't mind indoor or outdoor or whatever... sure it'll be fun either way!

I am absolutely awful at tennis, but I'd like to play if anyone could put up with me! I've played about twice ever, but despite barely being able to hit the ball, and hitting it in completely the wrong direction when I did, I actually really enjoyed it...and I think I'd like to get better at it - I live in crookes too, so keep me posted!

Ooh, yes, tennis!! I like it, want to play more and need to play more (I was pretty rubbish last time as Im sure DaBouncer agrees?!)

Myself, DaBouncer, his mate, and OneSpeed did a doubles 'match' many moons ago - it was good fun but for one reason or another, we havent done it since (partly due to my slacking - sorry guys!!)

Anyways, I'm keen to play - Saturday/ Sunday during the day is best, or can do Friday 5-7 at a push. I've not played for more than a year (or much at all) and may have to do underarm serves, but I'm OK once we're in a rally.

Oh yeah, and could we play at Weston Park courts please? Because a) they're walking distance, and b) they're free :D

It was cool, we had to pay at the green hut. But the green hut man wasn't there. Soon as we starting playing, he appeared amazingly, like by magic. Weather was lovely too.

glad this thread is in existance 'cos I've been wanting to get back into playing tennis. Graves would be best for me. I'm a (reasonably) fit 28 year old guy. Use to play a lot and was pretty good 'back in the day', but it's been years since I played. None of my mates are into tennis, so if anyone wants to start going for regular games I'd be interested.
