What a pile of c**p! Apparently you aren't allowed in wearing a coat, but are wearing a jacket - i had a big ole coat on (this being Sheffield in winter time an all) and was escorted to the cloakroom prior to entering the club, while my pal was allowed straight in with a short jacket on! Must have been the machete peeping out from under my coat wot dun it.

Anyway, this has shattered my dreams of a challenger club to Corporation emerging, as i went straight back to the Corp, proverbial tail between my legs and vowed i would never again darken the doors of promising sounding Club NME. The loos in the Corp might be a blatent hive of disease and vomit, but hey, what's a few anally contracted diseases between friends when the alternative is a 20+ minutes queue for the bar and a coat ban?

Hurrah for the Corporation.:)

oh dear uncle vic i thought it was rather good, although the coat policy is a blatant money making exercise, i would never have gone to see lethal bizzle and i thought he was awesome, bromheads were good but they over niceness was a little galling, we are in sheffield of course we are gonna boo manchester!!!

I felt old tho' very old.....

And all the kids seemed to leave as soon as the band finished....

Ok obviously i'm missing something but what is club NME? I could guess its something to do with the magazine but then again would they open a club in sheffield??

So where is it, what is it, what music does it play and any other info.

Cheers:thumbsup:

nah then rent a kite, it was cold in that plug, indie kids are a bit nesh you know. Seriously though, it did seem like a bit of a money making scheme to me rather than there being any rules or reasons. other than that though it was a top night, lethal bizzle's my boy, booooooooooooooooooo:D

Rob T, its a weekly night on mondays at plug, nme have given there name to it, kinda like a franchise i think, theres also one in london and nottingham i think? i think they recomend some "up and coming" bands to play there and they have some dj's with long arms who play records, its a good night really and "the kids" seem to like it

Never found the need to wear a coat in a club anyway.

Plug aren't the only club on the planet to have a policy of putting your coat in the cloakroom anyway.

Don't forget to call into the Moorfoot for one or two before going to the Corp on a Saturday night. Ultra cheap tickets on sale there to get into the Corp, plus yours truly DJing with superb rock sounds = old and new!
