View Full Version : If you could murder someone and get away with it, would you?
yeraknow 24-01-2006, 12:36 Basically, me and the lads at work were having a discussion earlier on about this morbid subject.
But if you could murder someone and get away with it, 100% guaranteed. would you?
I think i would, and no that doesn't make me a psychopath (i hope) :hihi:
Honest answers please people
kookymonster 24-01-2006, 12:39 No I really dont hate anyone enough. I could quite happily poke George Bush in the eye though.
Would you murder someone, if you could get away with it?
What, again?
Joking :)
oh yes, i certainly would,
No! I wouldn't contemplate taking a life, even if I really despised someone for whatever reason. I do agree with Kookymonster though; Dubya would benefit from a good slap ;) .
I'd never kill anyone even if I could get away with... wouldn't purposefully kill an animal either... and it's things like this that make me feel like being a vegitarian... so for the love of my bacon butty obsession, stop with them! lol
Whats the point?
Would you feel happier knowing that you had ended someones life?
I agree with Hondanate, theres enough wars going on already!
Well, seeing as American Psycho is my favourite film. Withoubt a doubt i would! :D
FunkyHouse 24-01-2006, 12:56 Anyone who would like to murder someone and not pay the consequences is, I am quite pleased to disagree with you, a psychopath, or sociopath.
Just the idea of taking away someone's life from them, and the affect such an act would have upon their family, daughters, sons, wives, husbands etc and the wider society is VERY abnormal, and in my opinion an extremely odd subject to raise and think about. IS it better to murder someone knowing you can get away with it completely? Only those with no conscience could suggest that your own consciousness would not question such an act, if it doesn't then there is something wrong.
A better question perhaps would be:
If you could do it, and get away with it, what method would you use?
Stabbing someone a couple of times, then watching them squirm in agony - well, its too late to regret it.
There are no quick ways, as you would have to live with the image of it in your head for the rest of your life.
Think twice before voting yes
There's plenty of people I might think I'd like to kill, but like Ghandi said "An eye for an eye will only serve to make the whole world blind".
With that in mind, punishment without killing is the best way :)
No I wouldn't. I couldn't.
I just couldn't bring myself to calculate a murder. I can't understand how anybody can and feel good for doing it? I'd feel sick to my stomach doing it and never be able to live with myself afterwards.
However, if it's a spur of the moment thing, it's the adrenaline in your body that causes you to kill somone (apparently) and I think anyone who's going to murder on the spur of the moment (not calculated) is going to do it whether they can get away with it or not.
Well, seeing as American Psycho is my favourite film. Withoubt a doubt i would! :D
Have you taken the 'How Abnormal Are You?' test....? ;)
Have you taken the 'How Abnormal Are You?' test....? ;)
Na mate i havent.. :)
Its not needed. Just watch the film, ;)
No, I wouldn't kill anybody... There are a few people I could willingly kick all 7 shades of ****e out of, mentioning no names... But I wouldn't go THAT far as to murder them in cold blood.
Does it have to be someone specific or just a random person ?
No, certainly not. I have never felt hatred for someone enough to want to kill them. Also, getting away with it legally doesn't entirely mean you get away with it. Would you not drive yourself crazy knowing what you had done??
I voted "no", but if anyone hurt my kids, i'd have to re think it. I'm not a violent person, but as a mum, my instinct would be to protect. So, maybe my answer should read "in retaliation, maybe". But I'd have to admit what I'd done.
Assuming the person I was going to kill had done something I felt justified it (killing a loved one for example) then yes - and I'd make it as painful and unpleasant as possible. Though I'd probably prefer to maim them in some way that left them with a life of misery.
I'm really a nice person though:D
Does it have to be someone specific or just a random person ?
I would have thought someone you have taken a disliking to.
I would have thought someone you have taken a disliking to.
I just wondered, 'cause killing someone for a reason like revenge is different to just killing someone at random for no reason.
FunkyHouse 24-01-2006, 13:29 What interests me is that there are many people who commit murder in our country and many others across the world, those who work in the armed forces. The killing that is part of war is legitimised because of the "state of war". I couldnt even imagine what memories many of those people have, and how difficult a job it could be.
I think in war, there is the "kill or be killed" thing, the enemy is trying to kill you too after all, it's almost self-defense.
katy1981 24-01-2006, 13:38 hmm would i hmm..........id have to say only if i was in danger of being murdered myself or i felt that my child was in danger
Ok, my serious answer.. I would never actually never actually murder someone unless i was pushed back into a corner, or my family or girlfriend were. In an extreme case tho, like someone goes so far as to threaten to kill above people and then attempt to do it.
Lucretia_73 24-01-2006, 13:58 People sometimes make me mad enough to wish they didn't exist and I was gonna put 'hell yeah' in reply to this but I think if it came to it I couldn't actually be bothered to go to the effort of killing someone. All that planning - how to do it, when, what with, even who to choose! (Do I only get one?)
Then of course I'd have to live with it afterwards. Must be a weird feeling knowing everyday that you've been responsible for causing someone to just not be there anymore. It's a big thing having control over life and death...would the god complex set in?
I think the worst thing though would be seeing people suffering because of what you've done...gotta think of the families and people who will miss the person. Hmm...this is an intriguing question. Caused me to think at work:o
Actually, on second thoughts, I could see myself running down the horrible hoodie kids that think they're so hard they can take on my car when I'm driving to work in the morning...
No i would never want to murder anyone but i have always wanted to shoot someone for some strange reason- not to kill them- just to wound!!
lauramuz 24-01-2006, 15:01 i dont hate anybody enough to kill them, i think you would have to hate someone alot to get you very angry to carry out a murder! but who knows? if someone did something to me in the future to make me hate them then i could consider it, but i doubt it cos im too nice :P
No i would never want to murder anyone but i have always wanted to shoot someone for some strange reason- not to kill them- just to wound!!
Have you ever thought of seeking help...?
No i would never want to murder anyone but i have always wanted to shoot someone for some strange reason- not to kill them- just to wound!!
Thats such a coincidence! I've always wanted to be shot! not to be killed, just a wound  :loopy:
Phanerothyme 24-01-2006, 23:19 If I was dumb enough to do it, I sure as hell wouldn't announce my readiness to do it should the opportunity arise. Especially not on a public forum with 20,000 members.
rocketpig 24-01-2006, 23:23 does anyone know where bartfarst lives?
Cool- anyone got a gun?
I hear that padded cells aren't used too much anymore. There are certain medications which might be able to help though...
Perhaps murder is a little strong. But I'd sure like to slap the bloody hell out of a certain person.
It DOES make me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that if they continue with their obnoxious ways, eventually, someone, somewhere, will surely do the honors.

Internetowl 25-01-2006, 07:30 there's every possibility that on this board there are a number of murderers - whether caught or not - remember that next 'meet' :)
Yes, if someone did something to one of my children when they were small. But I would do it in full view of everyone not just because I could get away with it.

spyro2000 25-01-2006, 08:30 I personally think I could quite easily get away with it if I wanted. I still wouldnt though. Although some people may deserve a good beating, I wont go as far as to kill them.
I dont think i could go through with something as strong as Murdering someone... I feel it would have to be pure hatred... not sure i could hate anyone that strongly... not even a worst enemy...
Does anyone really deserve to die? not including the evil people of this world...
Now i'm thinking of the evil people... Ian Huntley for example... someone like that yeah! Murder for Murder kinda thing... someone that deserves it
You would then be just as bad as them, wouldn't you?
After committing such a dreadful act you wouldn't be the same person as you were before. I think that your life would be forever ruined by the knowledge that you had taken someone's life.
I hope that this thread is closed as I feel that it is lending credence to an illegal and barberous act which some unfortunate people might take seriously.
Yes I do think this would change me for ever but so would the hate Iwould feel eating into me that I had failed to protect them.
Did they call out for me and I was not there. I could not live with this either so my life would be ruined anyway.
At least that way I would have an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth.

DaBouncer 25-01-2006, 11:31 Absolutely, just to see what it felt like.
emperor_ming 25-01-2006, 11:41 If any 'adult male' we're to abuse or intentionally kill my kids i would have no hestitation in ending their life, regardless of whether i'd get away with it or not....Neither would i feel guilty or give them a second thought afterwards....
