Part One

SHOW AND SPELL
Directed by Quentin Budworth, 2005, 9 mins
A child's imagination is a powerful thing. It can change the world as we see it into
a world they wish for. Billy's Grannie is a witch, and now he must tell the whole
class about her. Is the story he tells real, or the work of his imagination? You
decide. CBBC now co-own the rights to this short film and programme it each
Halloween for their 'spooky week'!

JOY
Directed by Kieron Clark, 2006, 6:30 mins
Joy tells the story of a modern day miracle and of its effects on the residents of a
small seaside town. The film was shot entirely on location in Bridlington, East
Yorkshire, UK. Nominated for Best Short Film at Leeds IFF and Glimmer (Hull
ISFF, 2007).

STORMY WEATHER
Directed by Benjamin Richards, 2008, 6 mins
Both Hannah and Johnny are unlucky in love, constantly searching for the one to
sweep them off their feet. They are unexpectedly thrust together, and will be
forever changed as a result.

THREADS
Directed by Matt Taabu, 2009, 12 mins
Liam, a mixed-race fifteen year old, who comes face to face with Steve, a man he
believes is his father. Steve, however, is a member of the Far-Right. Winner of
the Audience Choice Award at the Clare Vallery Film Festival in Australia, 2011
and Best Short Film at the Saltburn Shorts Film Festival, 2011 and Best Film at
Rob Knox Film Festival, London (2011).

MOTHER, MINE
Directed by Sue Everett, 2008, 16 mins
“Hello Mum. My name’s Alison. I was born on the sixth of June, twenty eight
years ago. But you know that already, don’t you?”. Grieving the death of her
adoptive mother, Alison tries to track down her natural mother to find a
replacement ‘mum’. She sends out a videotape as an introduction. But are her
intentions what they seem? Screened at over 80 festivals worldwide and winner
of the Best Short Film at Leeds Int'l Film Festival, 2009, among 14 other awards.

Part Two

PUSSY
Directed by Debbie Howard, 2009, 3 mins.
Ellie has been trying to deal with unwanted sexual attention from an older boy in
school. She eventually gets help in order to stand up to her bully, and sees him
as he really is. Winner of Best Producing category at the Underwire Film Festival
in London, 2011 and screened at Rotoreliefs, Heart of England FF, Kino Film
Festival, New York City Downtown FF, and many more.

MR. BOJAGI
Directed by Marco Van Belle, 2009, 10 mins
Choosing the perfect present to give someone can be difficult – unless you visit
Mr. Bojagi for a ‘Gift Consultation’. Brian Blessed stars in this award-winning
fantasy. Winner of the 'British Lion Award' and 'Best Actor' at British IFF, and
selected at Boston Science Fiction FF, International Family FF and International
Children's FF, in 2010.

MORTIFIED
Directed by Robert Nevitt, 2008, 2 mins
Four children play hide and seek in an old house and they soon encounter the
house’s monstrous owner. For one of them, however, the day is about to get a
whole lot worse. Winner of 'Best Short Film', Montreal's Fantasia Festival,
screened at Fangoria Film Festival.

AMY'S TORCH
Directed by Gary Mellor & Ben Wilkinson, 2008, 3 mins
When the batteries in Amy's torch run out, the unwelcome guest under her bed
wants to come out....

MOTH TO A FLAME
Directed by Kevin Tams, 2007, 10 mins
Thomas, a dying man, suffers nightmarish visions of moths. Alone and afraid, he
overhears the plight of the woman next door, abused by her boyfriend, and strives
to overcome his fears and intervene. A UKFC Digital Short commissioned by
Screen Yorkshire. Moth To A Flame won 'Best Direction' at Can2007 Leicester.

HAMMERHEAD
Directed by Sam Donovan, 2009, 14 mins
Oddball Boris tries to reunite his parents on a shark-spotting trip off the North
Yorkshire coast. However, his biggest enemy is along for the ride… his mother’s
girlfriend, Lilah. Only once Boris accepts Lilah can he unite his family in his own
unique way, through his obsessive love of sharks. Winner: Best Comedy–
Fastnet Short FF 2009, Best Fiction– Balchik Intl Short FF 2009 Best Fiction
Film– Manhattan Short FF 2009, and many more.
