View Full Version : What's the most beautiful spot in Yorkshire
little malc 18-03-2004, 11:01 Since we retired to Scarborough, we keep finding new and interesting places to visit, Yorkshire seems to have more magnificent areas than just about anywhere else in the country.
What is your favorite place in Yorkshire?
I was going to say the top of Mam Tor but then I remembered that it's in Derbyshire! So apart from the view from the bole hills which I love, and the view from the top of the lane opposite the bell hagg, I would have to say that Malham Cove is pretty spectacular.
jackthedog 18-03-2004, 11:17 I was going to say Malham Cove too! Nice one Jayne! :)

Not familiar with toads mouth, but I'm sure the other two are in Derbyshire...?
/pedantry
Aye Ok you pedant
But its Sheffield's back garden
the view from stanage pole is nice too, sure that's still South Yorkshire??
Robin Hoods Bay is also lovely
jackthedog 18-03-2004, 13:49 I was also gonna say Stanage Pole too (great minds think alike and all that) but I wasnt convinced that it is still in Yorkshire.
Dunno where the boundary lies, but I do think it's in Derbyshire. Stanage edge is definately in Derbyshire, and the pole is but a stones' throw away... almost literally...
it this link works: http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?X=425000&Y=385000&width=700&height=400&client=public&gride=&gridn=&srec=0&coordsys=gb&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&scale=100000&out.x=1&out.y=11
(not going to is it)
looks like the boundary is just to the west of stanage pole so it would make the pole in south yorkshire
pedantic enough?
