I walk past it everyday and I just can't figure out what's going on with the old bandstand on the Moor!
I heard it was to be a cafe, then it went into two units both to be some variety of sandwich bar (with a new Greggs next to them?:loopy: ) but I think that fell through aswell.

It would be nice for something to happen to the stand as my only memories of it are watching the CD sellers on there running at any sight of a uniform!

What do you think should go there?

Put a band in there! What better use is there for a band stand?

Seriously, has it ever been used by musicians?

Yeah it has, granted that was probably getting on for 20 years ago but it was once used for its intended purpose, ie a band stand.... I remember being down the Moor with me Nan many years ago and there was a Brass band playing there almost every Saturday afternoon.

Yup, that and/or choir singers around Christmas time.

There were also the occasional group of god botherers attempting in vain to 'spread the word'.

Sorry if I've offended any religious types.

Flashback!

Yes, at first the images were vague and blurry... it's coming into focus now... I can hear the chanting now...

"Playstation games only a fiver!"

Suddenly, someone screams something about pigs, and the Moor is devoid of dealers oncer more as they charge up side-streets hefting suitcases full of pirate games.

Yeah, I think it would be nice if the bandstand was re-allocated with the purpose it was built for, i.e; somwhere for a band....er....to stand.
