View Full Version : Thirtysomethings
As a newcomer to this Forum, it seems that most of the posters seem to be students or twenty-somethings.
Is that the case or are there different age groups on this board (like 30 - 40)?
If so, do they ever meet up - say for a drink, meal, bowling etc.
How do you tell people's ages then? Apart from some obvious ones I think I'd find it hard to tell. Perhaps we should test you?Or are they on the forum somewhere?
There are a lot of thirtysomethings on here. If you look at peoples profiles some of them say.
And yes we do meet up at times see http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7574.
I am 34, if you need to know.
And I'm even older than that!
:D
I would say that there is quite a broad range of ages on this forum consisting largely of 20's, 30's and 40's.

Nice to be appreciated - I think??
Moneypenny 05-04-2004, 07:28 I'm 31 :-) and up for a beer anytime!
E-Man Groovin 05-04-2004, 10:59 I personally think that there should be a 30-something forum meet. And it could be held at say... Trippets Bar which is a very 30-something friendly bar. They have a fantastic selection of wines, plus really good mellow music on a Wednesday... o.k. so that's the night that I DJ there... and yes I'm plugging again... :-s
But I do think it's a really good idea, honest!
Does anyone agree?
Lindseyw 05-04-2004, 11:04 30 something - and would love the idea of a nice bottle of wine in Trippets.
Have never been in Trippets Bar .... but sounds like a nice place and thats a corking idea E-Man.
Trippet's is a top place. One of my favourites actually. Not that I get to go there very often - 40 something with kids!

I thoroughly agree there Zeddy.
I've been to Trippets and witnessed the awsome chillage sounds of DJ-Z man coupled with the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the bar.
Great place to chill out.
modern-retro 05-04-2004, 16:19 Me:
Chronologically - 42
Mentally - 4.2 (according to my ex)
Physically - between 32 - 62 (depending on the time of day)
Culturally - VH1 + 24
Sexually - still 18! (when does the urge die down?)
Financially - pensioner!
This is not a personal ad!
I know it's a cliche but in many ways it true, age is just a number.
evildrneil 05-04-2004, 16:44 Shall we say Trippets Wine Bar at 8.30 this Wednesday then?
SatanInHeels 05-04-2004, 17:08 wots wrong with not thirtysomethings??? :(

I think think that's a spiffing good plan Dr Neil. I for one will be there ;-). Jamie seems to be the social secretary of this forum I'm sure if he gets on the case we could have a nice little gathering of peeps (and please leave your zimmers at the door... arf, arf!).
Lindseyw 05-04-2004, 21:14 I'll be up for that !!! YAY !! So... this being my first meet, what do I do ? Walk in with a bunch of bloody carnations ?
evildrneil 05-04-2004, 21:56 Tell you what - I'll wear my obvious red jacket (pic here: http://love.lycos.co.uk/lovelycos/personal/personal.jsp?id=evildrneil) so you should be able to spot (to meet or avoid as you see fit) me at least :D
modern-retro 06-04-2004, 08:19 I can't make it but the idea sounds great and I'd be interested in future events. Have a good time everyone.
evildrneil 06-04-2004, 09:09 BTW - I hope I havent got the wrong end of the stick here - but just to allay any fears - this is to be a 30-something friendly meet NOT a 30-somthing only meet!!!
