The forum went down earlier and now it's obviously back.

So what happened?
It seems to be running faster but that could just be because there's not much happening at the minute.

I've just got out of bed (not for this - but because I woke up), and thought I'd reply to a couple of e-mails before going back up... ...how long has it been off for?

No idea really. I just tried logging in earlier and i got a message saying that something was happening.

I wish i had taken note of what it said :?

Either way... I have come back and there has only been one post since i was last online apparently.

It was off for an hour or so.

It was very unnerving...

I doubt an hour would be enough time to make any meaningful changes to the forum. Maybe it was just a server problem?

Actually it was a bit longer. If you look at the last posts; everything stopped around 23.30 and posting began again around 2.30. That's 3 hours in which to affect a change.

(But I don't see much different)

Nope... I think this was a false alarm. Probably a database backup or something :?

Why would that take the forum offline though? Maybe a bit of prep work being done by Geoff?

Well it was expected, cause we got a little SF font message saying 'The server is unavailable for essential doings' ...or something.
