due to the sf football match being a good get together (as i'm told coz i was workin) it gave me the idea of getting a pool knockout going,i thought the easter bank holiday monday would be a good time,most people off work etc and plenty of time to organise it..as one of our fellow forumers owns her own pub (rising sun) the venue won't be a problem and i'm sure she'd put a bit of grub on and i don't mind bringing my disco equipment along for when the tournement is finished.....anyone interested?

I'm up for that - I know the pub of old - when a old fellow had it and the pool table was always damp - in fact sometimes so damp the balls aquaplaned when you hit them - made for some great games ;) In was back in the '80's however so I hope its got a bit warmer down there....

well after in depth discussions with kirky (couple of PM's :D) we have decided upon saturday the 25th of february. the rising sun is the place where it is happening, and is commencing roughly 6pm (so people can watch footy etc)

As far as i know most league rules disallow jump shots but some people are ok with it and with there being a bit of variance with people playing diff rules i thought id ask.

By no easys (tis what mates called it back in louth) sorry what i meant was that some people play a rule that at least one ball must hit a cushion rather than a direct shot on black. This could be doubling the white onto the black or hittin the black onto a cushion to bring it back into a pocket if that makes sense. If the black was already against a cushion this would be accepted. Again its not a league rule as far as know although i did read it on one site somewhere in past (cant rem where) but as said with people playing all diff rules... When lived in louth though it wasnt a rule we used to jus play like that ocasionally to make it bit more interesting - and making it harder me as i will mess up the black every time even on a straight shot!

right if you head for where sainsburies supermarket used to be (might still be there) of meadowhall, there is a massive road (uphill, and its a big ****er) called "jenkin road" there, its on your left hand side as you walk up.

if everyone who is interested can let me know who is coming then i can draught up a fixture list to play. it will be randomly names out of a hat so will be no cheating on my part. we can have a tournament then go on to playing killer afterwards, if that is ok with everyone?
