View Full Version : Yeovil v Blades - Matchthread.
shoreham4eva 26-08-2011, 15:04 Another erm "attractive" fixture for the red & white wizards down in Yeovil town this saturday as the Blades look to stretch their unbeaten league run to 5 games, hopefully picking up 3 points in the process to make it 13 out of a possible 15 points and to put on the early pressure at the top of the league.
If theres one thing I credit Yeovil for it has to be the song below which I think is up there with the best, listen to the lyrics 100% ingenius.....and one which i'm sure we can all relate to as fans.

Team News:
The Blades might have to go with Doyle and McAllister in the middle tomorrow with Montgomery and Williamson both facing late fitness tests and new boy McDonald currently still recovering from an ankle injury. Neither Williamson or Monty are said to be seriously injured, the latter has been suffering from a sickness and both are still strong possibilities for the match.
In better news both Flynn and Porter are fit and are in contention for starts tomorrow.
rabitter 26-08-2011, 15:47 united 10 points yeovil 4 points these are games where we must pick up 3 points if we are to be serious promotion candidates no excuses
shoreham4eva 27-08-2011, 13:01 Very early start this morning and have to say not the best of away days for me, nothing down here to shout home about anyway. Nice enough place just not much around really.
Nice comfy united win coming up I think, disallowed goal in my opinion was fine and should have stood. Overall though, steady and composed performance so far, not really broke a sweat and I"m predicting 2 more goals and a steady 3-0 win if they carry on at this sort of tempo. Maybe a change up front though, porter has done naff all.

:hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:
Yeovil 0 Blades 1 ---- PORTER :hihi::hihi::hihi:
Spacecat 27-08-2011, 13:06 Porter redeemed himself then S4E? LOL
Sounds like we're keeping possession a bit better in this game and a the 0-1 lead at halftime is good :)
canadablade 27-08-2011, 14:12 Great 3 points and a great following ...Long may it continue
Spacecat 27-08-2011, 14:15 Phew...another 3 points....well done lads !!
Great support too Bladesmen ...sounds like you were the 12th man again:thumbsup:
Listened to match on Radio Sheffield and ref sounds like he performed like a pillock. Yeovil lad sent off for second yellow after sliding on wet turf. No bad fouls, but 8 yellows and 1 red. Never gave any 'advantage' to either team all match.
Even Kieth Edwards reckons he favoured us most of the match.
Still, another 3 points.:)
shoreham4eva 27-08-2011, 18:00 Just ont way home, rediculously long drive this but seeing as though I'm not driving think I might grab myself a few winks when the sun goes down :hihi:
As for Porter he was pants today in my opinion, the goal I need to see again as I thought it was Cresswells goal and Porter just jumped in to take the glory but we shall see. Even if it was his goal then it doesn't change the fact I think he was poor today, very poor first touch and looked off the pace, maybe lack of match fitness who knows but he wasn't on the ball.
freyasdad 28-08-2011, 15:45 Didn't get to even listen on the radio due to little one. Did we play well ? What was impressive though is our following again.
shoreham4eva 29-08-2011, 12:49 I wouldn't say we played prolific, we could have and should have put the ball in the back of the net a few more times as Yeovil were definately there for the taking, however that said we did what we had to do at the end of the day, at the back we were never really tested and never really looked in any sort of serious danger.....At the other end of the pitch it was a case of putting the ball around and into dangrous areas, Yeovils midfielders and defenders struggled with the tempo we played at despite only playing at half pace, had we push it up a gear and put the ball into the box more often then we would have cained them.
The best part of the day for me was getting soaked on the terraces, brought back some real memories of the old grounds without roofs....helped by a great United following, it's hard to generate an atmosphere in an open space bu we managed it, singing through-out as per.
freyasdad 29-08-2011, 13:22 Clean sheet 3 points away from home what's a little water amongst friends?
If we can get 3 points and not play well that is usually the mark for a good season .
