OK here is the truth regarding what has happened and what is happening in Sheffield re. BJJ.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was first brought to Sheffield by Rob Sheehan via Ross Innacarro by hosting a Carley Gracie seminar at Ponds Forge, this was in 98/99.

I then went to the Gracie Academy, Torrance in LA to train with Royce/Rorian etc, I did this on my own.
Royce wasnt there at the time but i trained 5hrs a day for 10days with Henrique 'Caique' Elias (blackbelt under Helio Gracie) and Ryron and Renner Gracie.

I returned to the UK and attended a seminar with Royce in Manchester with Rob Sheehan and Steve Marsden.

I returned to the Gracie Academy in 2001 with Ross Pettifer here we struck up a good friendship with Royce, received our blue belts, competed and arranged a royce seminar in sheffield.

I started teaching BJJ at Castle Black Belt Academy, and hosted regular seminars with Royce and also the following Marcio Feitosa, Vitor 'Shaolin' Ribeiro, Rolker Gracie, Braulio Estima, Roger Gracie.

I became an official representative for Royce.

I left Castle for personal reasons but continued to train at the 393 club, I had to leave the Royce network as I couldnt afford the monthly fees as my training was just for fun so to keep access to fantastic tuition and join a team, i affiliated with Gracie Barra.

I am now in london and John is teaching Gracie Barra Sheffield under the direct supervision of Braulio Estima and with access to the whole Gracie Barra family.

Hi Andy, I know rob brought it to sheffield he invited me to the seminar and the night out with royce i did not go as i was attending a dan grading in scotland at the time, i would like to have gone but business came first.:mad:
