right i have a prob with my fuji film digi cam, when i try and install the pics on to my pc it aint having none of it,when the pics have appeared on my screen the open button in the top left hand corner turns from grey to black letting you know its finished, then you select all files (i.e the photo's) and click open...then select somewhere to save the pics...my problem is the "open" button isn't turning black so its just dead and nothing happens, ive completley uninstalled the cam and reinstalled it but it just does the same:help: :help: :help: :help:

when the camera is attached to the pc - can you see it as a drive on my computer?

if so, simply go at it that way, open up the folder and copy them into your docs - using select all - copy
paste them in your docs folder or similar and when completed remove the camera from the usb - using the safe remove

can you now open up the files you copied into your docs folder?

my youngster has a digital camera which sometimes does the same - once you are sure you've got the files on the harddisk then I'd consider reformatting the memory card on the camera.

Only do this when you're sure you've got the files...

Yes (well on mine anyway) - Do the batteries have enough charge in your camera? I had that problem that the camera didnt have enough charge to be recognised by the PC.

all cameras work differently, some act as a drive on your pc, others like my cannon just recognise the camera, then show you the picture stored on it, kirky sounds like mine.

it could be the batteries, as cameras use alot of power

you got a card reader to prove if its yer camera or not...???
i find it easier and quicker to take card out my fuji and view contents via card reader..

what make and model is your camera, i'll have a look around to see if i can see what your supposed to do.

on my cannon poweshot camera, you have to flick a button to picture preview on the camera, then you just plug it into the pc whilst the camera is on, then the software i installed with the camre detects it, and asks me what i wasnt to use to look at the pics, then i select the software then i have an option to select which pics to download.

have you installed any software on your pc for the camera ?

hmm, not sure then, try checking through the cameras settings and the software settings to make sure you haven't enabled/disabled soemething by mistake.

also, have you got enough room on your harddrive for the pics ?

other than those suggestions i can't think of anything else

another thing to try, try plugging it into a different usb port (if it connects via usb )

I used to have a Fuji, Kirky, and it would just drain the batteries if I tried to upload the photos directly. Went out and bought a card reader which doesn't use batteries, and hey presto, quick and easy uploads. They're not expensive to buy either.

Agree with this. I seem to remember on Fuji forum DpReview about 3 yrs back reports of dodgy USB connector on some Fuji cameras. If possible try it one another computer.
