Im in the market for another job, however I have had plenty of jobs before which I have left because of poor working conditions of one type or another. I obviously dont want to find a job which I will want to leave after just a few weeks (we must have all had one of these), so lets list some types of jobs we vowed never to do again and why!!

Im never going to do these again...

valeting- underpaid and very physically tiring and mentally numbing.

shelf stacking- underpaid + soul destroying.(IME)

taxi driving- underpaid for the abuse taken.

My son managed half a shift at Asda working nights cleaning out the ovens the chickens had been cooked in.
He didn't even go back for his half shift pay :hihi:

He swore then that no matter how desperate he got he would never do that smelly stinky job again.

Asda H/O switchboard (about 900 calls a day, people moaning about the fact that the recipe has changed for the bread cos it tastes different)

Filing for a insurance company in a massive cupboard type room on my own for 8 hours a day

I worked once for a day driving around in a van selling frozen food to people. You had to rent the van and got a tiny commission for the food. After you finished you all sat in a big room with the management giving everyone a clap for how many boxes they sold. I was amazed how many people were brainwashed by this.

I lasted one day

Worked once for the royal mail letter sorting. That was the most boring job of my life. The hours went like days.

Night shift on security - according to my bloke - check calls every two hours so you can't get your head down for a kip, and the occasional narky boss who wants you to grit the path in the middle of winter. Scuse me, do I look like a labourer???

The firms I used to work for the check calls were every hour and if you failed to make them you were put on 30 minute calls.

You aint supposed to be asleep (although we all did)

As for gritting the path, thats a health & safety issue which is also part of the job - technically.

It has got to be cold callers of the telephone variety.

Poor S*ds having to read that damn awful script to you that takes ages without a breath and then for you to respond a calm, no thanks.

I would hate that.

Internet technical support... Especially when I know for a FACT that half the stuff they have on the sheet they read out is wrong

I hate technical support people anyway, I know they have to contend with stupid PC newbs who have even less clue what they're talking about than they do, but listening to them try and help you sort your net problems out when it's blitheringly obvious they are stumped by even the slighest technical detail, is IMMENSELY annoying IMO.

Snap... when I was 17 (10 years ago) I worked there too in dispatch.

The job itself wasn't too bad apart from working in a Giant fridge and being really cold the entire time.
Preferred morning shift tho (6am - 2pm) cos afternoons were aweful and so were nights.

Stuck it for about 3 months before I got fed up.
