The Zeppelin 17-03-2004, 01:48 AM 5 miles, 15 mins, a bus every 11 minutes in that order. HarrietStar 17-03-2004, 01:00 PM thank you :) would you say its a nice area? GazB 17-03-2004, 01:18 PM how far from sheffield is it Erm.. It's in Sheffield. But as The Zeppelin says it's 5 miles from the centre. would you say its a nice area? I live there.. so it must be a nice area  cczmark 29-03-2004, 03:22 PM Hi, We've lived in Ecclesfield for nearly 2 yrs and it's fine. Friendly locals. Decent park and pretty handy for both Meadowhall & city centre - takes about 15mins by car and 25-30 by bus (frequent services). Very handy for M1/J35. A bit too litter-prone for my liking but has an excellent Italian restaurant (Cerrones). Nicer than Chapeltown IMHO but then again Grenoside and Outibridge are nicer still. Cheers, Mark. GazB 30-03-2004, 08:38 AM The main thing that really annoys me about Ecclesfield is the set of lights outside the Travellers/Police Station. They hold up so much traffic! It takes at least 10 minutes to get through them if it's a busy time of day (normally 3.30 - 6pm weekdays and all weekend when Morrisons is open!). They need to sort them out or give people a different, easier way to get to Chap or the M1. Dave650 23-07-2006, 11:36 AM I wouldn't say its the nicest of areas-been there twice first time was begged for fags by people on 2 different occasions - i wasn't even smoking. Second time i was on a motorcycle test and the people round there kept trying to obstruct me, one little brat jumped out infront of me then jumped back out quickly, kids walking round with cans of booze chuckin stones etc about. Nearer shire green school seemed nicer. Hope this helps senwar 24-07-2006, 07:06 PM Ecclesfield's a lovely place to live. I moved here 5 years ago, and love the place. Great for commuting, a couple of nice pubs although the village ins't what it used to be. But all in all a great place in my opinion Funky_Gibbon 25-07-2006, 04:00 PM Hi, I don't actually live in Ecclesfield but I live about 5 minutes walk away, commute through it every day and worked in the area for several years so I'll add my 2p. Ecclesfield is a very nice area overall with lots of nice housing which means that the house prices are much higher than the surrounding areas (except perhaps Grenoside). The transport links are as described by other people, there are about 7 or 8 different bus services that run through Ecclefield at the moment and there are plans to open a mini Transport Interchange around High Street I believe. Traffic can get a little heavy during the rush hours. never wrong 25-07-2006, 04:02 PM I think you will find the interchange a no go now You are viewing an archive.
