I would love for it to be Ballack and Gattuso- but thats just me!
Either one of them would be good for us.
So who do you the two players will be?
ALSO as a point about the Glaziers
If they do manage to convince two big name midfielders to come to Old Trafford then I think the supporters on their backs will have finally had proof that the Glaziers are FOR the club once and for all- they can then shut their mouths bad-mouthing them for me.
spyro2000 16-01-2006, 00:21 jeeeeeeeeeeeeez, This really should be called the Man Utd forum

Robbie Loving 16-01-2006, 06:27 to be fair angelus i was never in any doubt the glaziers would spend any money, i think the problem the fans have is the huge amount of debt united are now in, and also how much ticket prices/merchandise will go up to with in the next few seasons
why don't you just start ONE thread similar to the bladeschat....maybe "pointless scu...sorry..Man Ure chat" that way you can add all your scoops to one specific thread.
Guderian 16-01-2006, 11:48 Shut up about Ballack!!
He is not coming!
He is lazy!
Its Diarra and A.N Other.
Internetowl 16-01-2006, 18:49 worry not Spyro, you've got Sven and Beckham coming :)
scottishdude 16-01-2006, 19:13 I heard that Ballack has gone to Juventus.
They should have gone for Chris Sutton.
Agent Gypo 17-01-2006, 09:04 Smart money is on Ballack going to Real Madrid or Juventus.
This isn't good old fashioned Man Utd bashing, but they cant compete for the league or europe and generally seem like a club in decline; why would Ballack want to join them?
Similarly, why on earth would Gattuso, one of the worlds best midfielders playing for one of the worlds top 5 teams, leave for Man Utd? Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus or Real Madrid maybe, but Man Utd would be a step down for him.
Guderian 17-01-2006, 10:55 Rubbish.
Any player would love to play for United. Its not just about how well the team is doing, its about they way they look after you, (and yes that includes wages), and how big their profile is.
Chelseas profile does not match Uniteds. It doesnt even match Liverpools.
P.S Gattuso is overrated. He didnt even set Ibrox alight.
Although I wish someone would.....

If Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus go in for any player Man Utd are after, unless he's a fan or english they will struggle to get him. Man Utd wouldn't be able to match the wages those cubs can offer either.

Maybe not, but they still attract better players than Man Utd at the moment and can pay higher fees and wages.

So what if he didn't set Ibrox alight as a youngster ? Look at him now, he's immense.
Guderian 17-01-2006, 11:38 I dont agree that he is IMMENSE.
I also dont think Chelsea pay higher wages than United (although they could).
And I certainly dont agree that Juventus are a bigger pull than United.

There are players at Chelsea on £99,000 per week. I think, though I may be wrong, that this is higher than any current Man Utd player except Ferdinand. If Chelsea really want a player, there's nothing stopping them offering £200,000 per week. The ability to pay massively inflated transfer fees also helps.
While a British player is likely to favour Man Utd over Juventus, I think the majority of Europeans and especially South Americans would prefr to play for the Old Lady.
Guderian 17-01-2006, 12:06 Yes, and play in front of 16,000 for a Champions League game vs Bayern Munich!!
Agent Gypo 17-01-2006, 12:10 I know, it's odd how such a famous team has so few local fans. There's was an article (Guardian?) on this recently, apparently there are Serie B teams that regulalry pull in bigger crowds than Juventus.
Guderian 17-01-2006, 12:18 They lose out to Torino, who have had a plane crash.
It helps in terms of fan base!

It was a **** poor performance from us all over the shop- why fergie played Silvestre in defence and O'shea and Fletcher in centre midfield I'll never know!
