This made me chuckle yesterday when I was on the bus on Abbeydale Road.
If you're heading away from town and have just gone past the school on your right (can't remember name) there's a garage where you can get petrol, get your car hand-washed and now you can actually wash your dog!
Have a look next time you're on Abbeydale Rd. The garage is right next to Marden Rd which is a very short steep road and it says 'Sheffield's Only Dog Wash' or something like that. It's not just a bucket and sponge job either, it's an actual wash-station that you can put your dog inside and wash it with a hose or something. Crazy!
I wonder what we'll be seeing from them next? Shower cubicles where you can be hand-washed by the staff? :o
Strap it to the roof and drive through car wash. Works for mother in law:thumbsup:

Aww is that all it is? Just some kinda dog cage with a hose pipe? Bah, I was hoping it was like a mini car wash, where you put the dog on a coveyor belt and have it washed and shampooed by big rollers and then blow-dried.
I almost got a dog just so I could try it out.
Can I offer a competiton prize of one... no wait... TWO! pints of beer (or equivalent) to the best dog-in-the-dog-wash picture posted here?
It's not just a cage matey. As I said, it's a proper dog-wash station. Go have a look at it. :D
i went and used it for my dog, its really good because it has hot water, usually i hose them down in the garden but its a bit cold and they are getting old,
I have to add that i did feel a right tw#t, specially when he shook and covered me in shampoo and every one stuck in traffic was watching and kids were pointing.

hehhehe! So does it dry the dog as well, or do you end up with a wet dog in the car?
I just found a mobile dog wash service too! I don't know if they have a franchise in Sheffield but the web site is

The climate doesn't lend itself to it in the UK, but in Australia and the warmer parts of the US, mobile dog washing services are commonplace.
They roll up at your house in a van with a large fibreglass tub (high enough so the dog can't jump out) and do the business in your driveway

In the UK we have wheelie bins which im sure do the trick just as well. If you live in sheffield you could use your nice blue Recycle Bin and you dog won't smell of dead chickens.
Has this only just been brought up? I noticed this ages ago. I'm quite impressed how it claims to be "Sheffield's only dog wash". It's probably South Yorkshire's only dog wash!
There's a dog grooming parlour on Halifax Rd where I used to take my own dogs but I do it myself now. I think they do a collection and return service too - but I bet the dog-wash facility is far cheaper.
