I've just bought a unicycle and am going to a circus group on Wednesday nights where I'm also learning more diabolo and eventually juggling and other tricks.

I was just wondering if anyone on the forum could do it? :)

yes i can, well, could, have not done it for a while now. i learnt in manchester when i lived there.
if you have the guts, try a girafe unicycle, theyre easier to learn as the closer to the ground you are, the faster your reactions will need to be in order to correct you when you go off ballance. if that makes sence.

Yup I can unicycle, it's not that hard to be honest - taught myself. Just make sure you don't fall of backwards :gag:

My brother can unicycle. He used to ride round the city centre on his and juggle at the same time, sometimes with his pet rat sat on his head or shoulder! He also played unicycle hockey.

I bought mine from eBay last week. Brand new and only £35. :)

There's a place in Meadowhall on the Lanes and Jesters at Hunters Bar who both sell them, although online can be good if P&P is reasonable.
I run circus skills workshops on a national basis, so I've got a couple of unicycles, both of ours are from Meadowhall and came with stands, pretty useful!

I checked out prices at online stores and the cheapest I could find was about £70. I won the eBay auction for £25 brand new and postage was an extra £10. It's still half the price of what I would've paid from an online shop. :) Not sure what the prices are in regular stores though.

Mega_Monty; I have a unicycle I bought for my DH and he didn't want it. It's all in its original packaging and you can have it for £30 if you like ono. I can drop it off in Sheffield, or nearby, if that's where you are.

PM if you are interested. I've been racking my brain as to how to sell it without taking it out of the box to photograph it.

Cheers, and thanks for the thread Pauly, my husband can't do it either!

Pauly, there are soooooo many people on here who could expand this thread humorously......but I am not one of them.

I had to apologise personally to you yesterday. I don't want to feel obliged to do the same today.

Best of luck, hope you manage it mate:)

Did try it once.... but I guess I don't have the balance for it :D
However I did pass my FLT licence this week on counter balance. :D

I'm getting used to the threads being hijacked by the forum clowns and going miles off topic. Seems to be the way of things at the moment but it's not a huge problem. Just mildly irritating when you're trying to get a point across and all they can do is make jokes.

However since this topic isn't a really serious discussion I doubt it'd hurt too much. It's probably run it's course now anyway. :)

I'm pretty good at unicycling. There is a group of us that play unicycle hockey on a Tuesday night, but also mess around as well. There are about 10 of us feel free to come along, DM me for more details. We also teach ppl to ride and are all very welcoming.

Going back to the where to get one comment - www.unicycle.com
You really have to pay about £70 for a decent one. I went through 3 cheaper sub £50 ones before I forked out on a £150 Niumbs X, now have a £70 one, but have had to change the cranks and pedals.

I saw a guy unicycling on the footpath down Upper Hanover Way at 6.30am one morning this week - random , I know, but it dragged me out of my 'morning zombie' state !
