View Full Version : Hobbycraft Gallery- please vote which looks best
My missus has an entry on the gallery for Hobbycraft crafting gallery, I'm not going to say which one it is so can you please vote for which entry looks the best to you.
Also if you could give your comments about each one we would be very grateful as we are currently in the process of creating a website to showcase my lady's talent in crafting.
Thanks all
The linky is here

Please check out the link and let me know which you think is best- thanks :)
I'm not going to vote, because I can honestly say that I like them all. There are a few different crafts there, and all seem to be good representatives of them. If pushed, and if the picture was a bit better so I could see it in more detail, I might go for the earrings, necklace and bracelet, but that's only because I do some beadwork myself. Good luck to your wife. I'd like to see some more.
[EDIT: Missed the bit about commenting on each one. Right, I'm going to have another look].
Cross stitch: I like cross stitch and I like the picture, but I'd like to see a bit more detail, maybe more of a close up so I can actually see the stitches and tell that it's a cross stitch picture. If there were other examples, I'd like to see something with more colour.
Bouquet: Gorgeous, but the picture doesn't do it justice as it cuts a bit off the bottom. I'd like to see a bride holding it, so I can see how big the bouquet is too. Lovely colours.
Tryptych: Is it a painting or a quilt? It deserves a bigger picture so I can see all of it at once. The picture of the large flower and butterfly inparticular looks like it could be machine embroidery. I'd like to see it in more detail.
Choker/Necklace: I like beadwork, amd I love the colours, but the picture doesn't do it justice at all. It needs to be clearer so I can see the details of what it's made of.
3D Christmas card: This looks like one of those pictures where different parts of several copies are cut out and the picture is gradually built up. It looks like it could have got some stencilling or stamping in there too, but again I'd need to see it in more detail. Again, the picture doesn't do it justice. I suspect there's metalic gold in there, but the photo seems to have taken the sheen off it. I love the subject, but it needs more colour.
Mirror cards: These look very professional. I like the colours, but again I want to see them close up and in more detail, so I can see the mirror effect better. It also looks like there's some 3D detail there to, but I can't really tell from the picture.
Penguin card: This is really cute, but the picture's in too much shadow to see the detail. I can't make out the left hand side of it very well. I like the fact that it looks simple and uncluttered, and the snow looks realistic too.
I hope your misses did the bridal bouquet....that got my vote!
Everything else was really nice IMO but I didn't care for the beadwork!!
It just wasn't me I guess....I would never wear anything like that it looked homemade!!
Fingers crossed the beadwork wasn't your wife's otherwise I am in trouble!!
:P
zoboz111 14-01-2006, 22:55 I love the butterfly's just coz crimbos gone and i like butterfly's.
The flowers were very nice, very posh and polished great but i like bold colours alot more eye catching.
Braclet set great very nice.
Thanks for all your posts and joining in on the votes as well :)
The missus is keeping an eye on the posting to see what peoples views are of her crafting.
I want to create her a website so she can showcase her talents further on it so I will post the linky up soon if you want to come and have a look and please let us know what you think to her designs- I know you have made her very happy tonight, so she is in a very good mood with me at the moment...
THANKYOU ALL :hihi:
Hayley Waters made the effort and animated hers... she gets my vote
Ms Macbeth 15-01-2006, 06:10 I could almost echo ppn_2204s comments. I voted for the beadwork on this occasion though as I think it is quite striking.
I couldn't see enough detail to make an absolutely foolproof choice, but I wouldn't have picked the winner as I think it lacks enough detail for a cross stitch.
Good luck to your wife - I really envy creative people. For information, it looks like a shop on Dixon Road in Hillsborough is going to be for creative craft. Just saw the sign yesterday, and the inside isn't finished.
LellyBee 15-01-2006, 15:27 Yeah preferred the beadwork myself but that's just because I like the jewellery.
It's no way influenced by the craftwork of any of the artists, just a decision based on what I would personally like for myself.
