Hehe!! Course it is!! Nothing wrong with it, never done it myself but loads of people nowadays have, give it a try, you never know you might find the 'one'!

Yea, go to Mingdom and try to find someone who can hold a converstion or who has not drank 20 alcopops.. I think more and more people are using the internet as a way of meeting people, Not all the girls want to go to town and get their arses felt by some pi**ed up nobhead in some naff bar.

In the techno age its quite normal to use internet dating sites. People don't work 9-5, mon-fri these days so the traditional ways of meeting new partners or friends just isn't there any more.

I met my husband 3 years ago on datingdirect.com and we're now expecting our first baby. So it can work! You'll have to take my word for it that neither of us are mingers neither were we desperate.

I also tried udate.com and met 5/6 guys there - I had a great laugh although didn't click with any of them. My top tips would be firstly to keep safe and meet in a crowded place / tell your mates where you are going etc, but also to meet up only with people you have had good banter with online - at least that way you know you will have a good date even if you don't fancy each other.

I met my other half 2 years ago online, so I agree it can work, you've just got to filter through all the to**ers, but as least you can just switch your pc off/block them.

Unlike being in the middle of town at midnight hoping to god someone sane will notice your being stalked by some drunken freak.

See on the internet, youve got two choices.

1. You realise you can be anyone you want, and being quite a happy fulfilled person, you realise it's easiest and most fun to just be yourself.

2. You realise you can be anyone, and thus pretend to be an italian porn star with 6 houses and a Ferrari.

Luckily most people are brave enough to go for the first option, but those that go for the latter can be very amusing :lol:

I had one friend who used to do it often. She was very attractive and ALWAYS got lots of attention wherever we went, but she simply enjoyed the dating agency game. I had another friend who did this and ended up marrying one man with whom they fixed her up. She is very happy! Give it a bash. If you really don't like it then just do the one date and give it up. It is only a 'date' after all. Speed dating really took off so why do people think these agencies are any different. Come to think of it, why is going to club to meet someone any different. If you are looking for love then it doesn't matter how you go about it. It all boils down to the same thing.

I personally find the thought of trying to find 'mr/miss right' in a nightclub quite amusing.

At the very least you can get chatting online, find out if you have common interests, aspirations, if you can spell...etc.

I've made alot of friends online, gone all over the country to 'meets' and had a ball, and i've now found (well 2yrs ago) the man i'll spend the rest of my life with (if he's lucky ;) )

Don't forget that you can find people that have the same tastes and interests as yourself via computer dating. It just removes the hassle of finding out that the fit bird you've just picked up in town is into sacrificing goats and Norwegian death metal.

I know 2 people who have got married after meeting on Lycos love it is free for the basic service as well.
