I was recommended Def Leppard as a decent listen to what I usually listen to, so I downloaded the Vault album.

I dont get whats so special about them?
I know they are from sheffield- thats great news though :)

I've been sat listening to their music for over an hour now and nothing I've listen to stands out.

The first time I listened to Metallica S&M I was hooked instantly and I still listen to it over and over now.. but Def Leppard.. I dont get it.

Angelus,

You are 15 years too late!

Never really much of a fan of them myself, but listen to Hysteria.
That was their "big" album.
Everything after that was shocking, especially Vault!

It probably will sound poor these days - but it did sell by the bucketload at the time.

The previous one to that, Pyromania was a lot more guitar based than one like Vault.

you can't really compare a live album including a world renouned orchestra with any studio album, its just not something you do...

compare S&M to Made In Japan by Deep Purple or something...

anyways old music has a totally different vibe to newer stuff, you just have to accept it and learn to understand what music was like before they could make **** players and singers sound good with digital enhancements ;)

That was what happened around about the time Hysteria was recorded ;)

But seriously I'm not sure Hysteria was meant to be listened to
