First single was D I S C O!!!!
Not sure what the last was though. Music is crap these days and it is ages since I bought an album. If I do buy in the near future it won't be anything from these days!

First album I had bought for me was Jackson 5's Greatest Hits - can't remember what the first album I bought myself was. Never seen much point in singles - if I like a song I buy the album :)

Can't remember what the last album I bought was either - there's a pile of about 20 here that I've narrowed it down to - they're all recent and could be anyone of 'em :)

First single I had bought for me was *ahem* Bomballerina and "Itsy Bitsy Teen Weeny...." argh u know the rest! :loopy: what can I say I was young...I knew not what I was doing. First single I actually bought myself was White Town and "Your Woman" before I lost 4 years of my life to boyzone *twitch* :? :? :? (was transitional period, I have left it well behind now!)

Dont tend to buy singles so much now, think last one I bought was Junior Senior and "move your feet" Im more than likely to peruse the choice available to me on WinMX and if I like individual record will go and get albumn. Last Albumn I got, Xmas pressies -Darkness - Permission to Land, Placebo - Sleeping with Ghosts and Muse - Absolution! ahhhh banging!

REM Nightswimming was my first single. Heard it on the radio, thought it was amazing and so bought it. Well, my mom bought it me...

Last album I bought was Jakata, Visions. It's just one hour-long sample of various sections of the American Beauty score by Thomas Newman. Pretty good though.

First single was I'm a Man, Not a Boy by North and South. How embarassing.

The single I last bought was Hey Ya by Outkast. I bought it on the day of release though. I'm not responsible for keeping it in the top 10 for weeks and weeks and weeks, and causing it to die a most horrible overplayed death.

I think I've got their 3rd single also, entitled "Breathing". It's probably their best one, all things considered and it has a quality remix for a B-side.

Shameful! I'm so embarrassed:

It was 1981

"Making your mind up", the Eurovision winner by Bucks Fizz and
"Bermuda Triangle" by Barry "God" Manilow.

(Still love the Eurovision, was better without the Eastern Block though!)

I bought them in a record shop at the top of Fargate that's no longer there. Can't remember what it was called, either.

My partner saw Acker Biilk play in a village just outside Bath, Midsomer Norton, in 1955, I suppose the year before his hit record

Acker Bilk's "Stranger on the Shore" was 1961 and was originally called "Jenny" (after his daughter), but the name was changed when it became the theme tune for a TV series "Stranger on the shore".
As regards seeing him in Somerset, that's his part of the world.

Who was the Guy that did a version of Strangers on the shore using was it teaspoons or casstanetts, dont know how you spell that, in place of the clarinett but this version got to number 186 in the charts in 1967. I think the fellows stage name was Troubwood Burkinshawe. Any help on this would be appreciated. Apparently 1n 1967 Paul McCartney who was in a group called The Beatles heard it & he recalls that it inspired him to write the song When Ime 64
