what do people believe?

during a discussion i had with a friend we got onto the topic of jeet kune do (my friend has just started going to the source one)

IF you think jeet kune do is a formless martial art you are wrong, it was created by a man who had form, and done form it was his application of form therefore it was formless for him because he had form,

you cannot have a formless art without first having the forms to be formless with.

my friend mentioned inosanto and another man i cant remember the other name, that they had both been taught by bruce lee, but they fought different and held different stances, maybe because bruce lee himself said he deoes not teach a style he helps you teach yourself, so in that respect he never taught HIS jeet kune do but showed people theres, which means that jeet kune do died with bruce lee??

to forget what we are taught is the aim for every martial art and has been forever.

:) just a few words from a discussion not getting at anyone.

it will be interesting to hear peoples opinions on bruce lee anyone going down to birmingham???april??

i think Bruce Lee was a man way ahead of his time in Martial arts,
Bruce didn't create Jeet Kune Do as a martial art, he created JUN FAN GUNG FU(bruces chinese name)
heres your answer straight from the source

"Jeet Kune Do favours formlessness so that it can assume all forms and since Jeet Kune Do has no style,it can fit in with all styles.as a result Jeet Kune Do utilizes all ways and is bound by none and, likewise, uses any techiques or means which serve its end"

Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Kune Do did die with him, but not Jeet Kune Do, as you said Bruce taught people thier own Jeet Kune Do so that means Jeet Kune Do is still alive in them and with the people they teach.

i have been lucky in being able to train with 4 of Bruce Lee's students one of them being my instructor and who i'm also an Instructor under, each have thier own way, which is what JKD is about
but they all still teach the basic principles that make JUN FAN/JKD

as Bruce Lee said

"The truth in combat is different for EACH INDIVIDUAL
1 Research your own experiences for the truth
2 Absorb what is useful
3 Reject what is useless
4 Add specifically what is your own"
