Today is National No Smoking Day. Are you a smoker and what if anything does today mean to you.

Honest I did. Gave up following nasty bout of tonsilitis and lasted about 3 weeks before I succumbed and have one on Friday :? doh! made it worse and had a bout 8 last night! Gah! but at least I havnt smoked today :thumbsup: although that could just be because I ran out of fags last night and cant be bothered to buy any more :roll:

It would have helped if I'd have known it was No Smoking day in the first place.

I am a casual smoker, but just because they invented yet another i don't care day, i'll celebrate non-smoking day by actually smoking when i would usually not...

Yep i haven't had one since last Tues eve, but i have to say that in the past i have had one on No Smoking Day, because it really annoys me that people are telling you should not have one on that day.
You give up when you want to
not when people say it is a day for not doing so.

I've never smoked either...the negative externalities involved with smoking far outweigh any possible positive ones. Having said that though it seems like we're the only ones :shocked:

I used to smoke but stopped the filthy habit forty years ago.

I stopped inhaling tobacco smoke around seven years ago after smoking from being around 15 years old.

It was much easier than I thought and I don't even think about having a fag these days.

Didn't even realise it was no smoking day...

I'm going to try and give up smoking cigs once I've finished my last 100g of rolling tobacco, which should be in the next few weeks.

I wonder if there's a no imbibing alcohol day or national sobriety day, or a no eating chips day!
I'll bet there is! seems to be more and more of these "theme" calendar days cropping up!

No Smoking Day has been around for at least 15 years. I can remember when I used to smoke trying really hard to go without a cig for the day. I think the longest I got was lunch-time.

I smoked for many years but looking back now I see it was the most stupid thing I ever did.

I loved the sensuous feel of the cig between my fingers. The smooth as silk texture of the cigarette paper. The whole process of lighting up and smoking was a very comforting and satisfying ritual. Sounds raving mad now.

I've never tried smoking but if I were a smoker I would not be stopping for no smoking day.
