Camping in wales this summer, any advice?

Recommended Posts

I am hoping to go camping and want to visit through snowdonia and head for the coastal areas for photography. Can anyone recommend any places that would be brill for photography and camping? somewhere cheap and cheerful, doesn't have to have amazing facilities as long as there is a loo and a shower :) I went to pwelli area last year and keen to go venturing somewhere different.....thanks

Seconding alch's recommendation for Aberafon - we camped there for a week last August - wonderful wonderful views and beach right next to the camping field. Very windy if you're on the 'scouts field' though -try and get on one of the ones nearer the river and you'll be fine.

Loved it, 2 kids (5 and 2) loved it too, would definitely go back!

That Northern coast can be windy but the views and beaches are fantastic. A little less touristy than the south of the peninsula.

Try to visit Morfa Nefyn if you can and walk along the beach and call in at the pub on Porth Dinllaen beach, continue on to the lifeboat station and then back through the golf course.
