Can anyone recommend a good nightclub in Sheffield that would be ok for the over 40s. Or maybe has an over 40s night now and again.

Any suggestions appreciated.

How much over 40s? Are we talking a smidge over 40, or are we looking at somewhere approaching 70, for example? :suspect:

Ps, I'm up for the 40s bit, not knocking it!

Depends what you're after - last time I was in the Casbah there were a lot of VERY drunk over 40s getting very raucous to old 70s & 80s tunes - but be warned - it was not a sophisticated night out!

Hot Pants is on every saturday at City Hall, it's a 70's & 80's night. A lot of people go dressed up in fancy dress (u dont have to though)

You get a mixture of ages in there from students to 40+ to 70+

It's a great night.

I'd 2nd that. Hot Pants is a great night out. Wide age range go there, but people (on the whole) are more civilised.

Right Of Admission Reserved - It means that just because you've got a Flyer (or even a ticket) they don't have to let you in. Fairly standard term, nothing to worry about.

Dress code is fairly relaxed, go in you shirt & trousers, jeans & trainers, 70's fancy dress or your party frock.

As long as your not scruffy (or p155ed), you should be ok getting in.

Have fun!

Am I the only 40s who doesn't want to spend the night listening (and dancing) to old music tho? I'm fine with a sprinkling of 60s, 70s etc (but purlease, no 80s, bleugh) but I'm always waiting for something a bit more exciting and up to date. Sure, I could just go to the 'proper' clubs, but I hate to be the oldest swinger in town and the phrase 'old enough to be their parent' is erm, actually true!

Does no-one else over 40 want to dance to dance music? Are over 40s expected to live in the past all the time?

And Flares and Bramall Lane are so sordid. Well, sometimes anyway. Full of old blokes on their own.....

Lol.. but so are any other places really. You will see a bunch of young males standing by the side, or just drinking their pints. Age doesn't change a thing, eh ?

I was gonna suggest the same ones as above. Ones that I know of is Shef Utd ground. (My colleague called it 'grab a granny night'. ;)...) Or Casbah. (More for rockers though, but good atmosphere.) You can always try Cubana for a taste of something different.

Tbh, you shouldn't worry about how old you are, and whether you're okay to go into such clubs. You're the client/customer after all. I go out with my colleagues in the past and frequent those places all the time. I'm in my late 20s, and they are in their 40s, 50s or even 60s !

Last time I went to Bramall Lane I pulled a bloke in a knitted cardi (when I say 'pulled', I mean he took a fancy and followed me around all night...) You wouldn't find THAT at Hed Kandi! :D

But re the 'shouldn't worry how old you are', you are of course quite right! I'll dig out mi strappy top.
