Sell it if it's clean enough. Otherwise find somewhere by the uni there's building work on, fling it in a skip and run away.

(Don't do it to private houses skips though, that's nasty.)

Take it to the tip. Otherwise you can call the council but they charge for up to a certain amount of items. else wait for a bring out your rubbish day.
