matt1889 06-01-2006, 10:13 South Yorkshire Police - Appeal for Information - Sheffield 1
Police investigating an assault on a 15 year old girl in Sheffield are appealing for information from the public.
The incident happened at around 4.45pm on Monday 28 November 2005, as the girl was walking home from school along Botanical Road. She was approached by three girls, who were unknown to her, and was pushed to the ground where she was kicked and punched. One of the girls filmed the attack on her mobile phone.
The victim sustained only minor bruising as a result of the assault and did not require hospital treatment.
One of the attackers is described as a white girl, between 5ft 6 and 5ft 7 tall, and of large build. She had long brown straight hair and was wearing a puffer jacket and carrying a grey rucksack.
The other offenders were both aged around 16 years. One was white, 5ft 5 tall and of slim build. She was wearing a dark brown thigh-length coat and was carrying a bag. The other was black, 5ft 6 tall and of slim build. She had black shoulder-length hair, was wearing a black hooded top with a bright green and pink logo on the front, and was also carrying a bag. None of the attackers are believed to have been wearing school uniforms.
PC Stephen Freeman said: "This was a distressing attack for the victim, particularly as it was filmed on a mobile phone. This kind of incident will not be tolerated and we urge anyone with information about the offenders, or anyone who may have seen the film, to call 0114 296 3668. People can also call Crimestoppers totally anonymously ."
hi matt1889,this news is so disturbing.i honestly dont know how the younger generation can bring their hearts to do this to other people,do you think it could be the way they have been brought up or could it just be the fact that they wouldnt have done this if they where alone?i really dont know.....my heart goes out to the young girl of this terrible attack and hope she makes a full recovery and a speedy one too
I'm surprised the police have even bothered to do anything. My 16yr old son was beaten up by 5 lads and the police said "what do you want us to do about it?"

it stinks, theres no wonder the world is like it is....thats because the law isnt tight enough..is there any wonder people take the law into their own hands?
42thefloor 06-01-2006, 12:33 i think the major problem with, and i don't want to generalise here so i'm going to say certain types of kids is that they know there's pretty much nothing they can't get away with these days, i mean that kid on the asbo sueing the police for violating his civil rights, what the hell is that about?

watch! it these little mites are only playing ,they dont mean to hurt anybody anyhow how do we know their guilty, that girl
girl could be lying , just to get these sweet little angels into trouble. ......... seriously though some people think like that until it happens to them or theirs, then its a different ball game. a lot of kids hold the law in contempt.
matt1889 06-01-2006, 13:33 When I read this, It sounds bad but I was'nt it the least suprised!!!! I mean I am very disturbed by this unprovoked attacked, but it's what you tend to expect in a society as it is today!
As per usual my thoughts go out to this young lass, allthough the physical damage is only minimal, I hope this does'nt affect this poor lass mentally, Whats i mean to say is, I hope this girl can go on living as she was before it happened!

Round them up for a good old fashioned public flogging of course.

Haven't the police forgotten that they're PAID to do something about it? But then, they're more interested in nabbing motorists who do 32 mph in a 30 mph area.
I'm in full agreement with the comments voiced above .
Some time ago on a different thread I mentioned the dreaded words [ to the Hand-Wringers , anyway ] of , " Labour Camps " , where violent young thugs could be sent with no luxuries of any kind , hard work , little or no contact with outside , "friends " , harsh discipline and no fixed date of release .
There was a great outcry from some people as you'd expect . They haven't cottoned on to the fact that if certain young people are not subdued by authority , then , the bullies themselves will try to take control . A child of ten could have told them that but for decades now , in the U.K the Powers-that -Be have preferred to follow the , " progressive " way ------with child-centred education , children's rights ......etc......they just can't understand that children are not rational , mature adults and some of them need strong discipline.
If not , we get what we've got today -------millions of people whose lives are made a misery by about 5 % of the population .

So you're saying that teenagers are getting worse, they're more badly behaved than 20-30 years ago, and because of this, society itself is getting worse?
Tabloid reader, eh?

a lot of kids hold the law in contempt.
Perhaps because they see their parent do too ??
Its getting beyond a joke now with happy slapping, its sick and disgusting.
matt1889 06-01-2006, 15:20 Not agree with the above!
How can you hold all parents responsible for their kids behaviour???
Ive seen kids have a really Generous and Caring up-bringing and still turn out to be little b**tards!
You can't blame the parents all the time! Kids are responsible for their own actions!
Internetowl 06-01-2006, 15:23 be interesting to find out what their background is like when they finally get caught...
will they be...
a) typical council house chavs
or
b) poor little rich girls

Parents are responsible for their kids' actions. Flog the parents too.
marinedrift 06-01-2006, 15:37 Wherever you go up and down the nation you can hear the dulcit tones of people complaining about kids of today, and still the do gooders keep giving them more and more rights...you can't possibly threaten a child with the slipper or cane....and as a result this is what it is coming to. Its time we all staged a revolt against these people and say enough is enough and if he or she steps out of line they will get a damn good hiding...never hurt me....put the little bar stewards back in their place..lock them in a room for a month and maybe once in a while give them a bit of warm rancid water......Then they may think twice
A man who has had enough

To right! when i was a lad if i did something wrong i'd get a smack for it, and when you came round you knew you'd done something wrong even if you couldn't remember what it was!
ahem, I’m all for tightening up punishment on this issue but i think you should pay attention to something called moderation otherwise it goes to far the other way, it seems to be a major problem with this country is that we only deal in extremes, in this case in extreme leniency or extreme punishment
The problem is with todays kids is they do not have any proper Heroes.
They seem to lookup to cowardice, as we see with this so called happy slapping.
I bet not one of them in these gangs could stand one to one.
All this stems back to the early 70's and the cowardly skinhead gangs, beat one youve beat them all
