We have been getting Gas and Elec from STAYWARM. This is where you pay a fixed monthly amount and you can use what you want. We have been on it for about 5 years now. My next years contract has gone up now to £80 per month. This is detirmined by how many bedrooms you have and how many people live in the house. Is there anyone else on this and what do you think. What are your yearly bills?

I have been on Staywarm for about 4 years now. When I first joined it was (I thought) good value but now I'm having second thoughts. At the moment I pay £65.63 It is up for review in June and if as Regblind quotes it goes up to £80.00 I will have to consider wether it is still good value. A couple of months ago I took my own gas and electric meter readings and after another month I will work out how much I would have paid the old fashioned way using my daughters bills to work them out with standing charges etc. I know it is winter months and the heaviest time but it will give me an idea. If as I expect I am getting ripped off I will start to shop around for another supplier. I just hope that it turns out that Staywarm are good value and I dont have to start messing about.

£80 per month????

I have to heat 11 rooms (not including hallways) by gas, I have a gas cooker and electric oven. It costs me about £60 per month with a condensing combi boiler.

As far as I am aware I'm in credit too.

It's with these:

What sort of house do you have?

I have a small 3 bed terrace, well insulated, double glazing etc. and we need the heat on all day because of a small baby. With Scottish power our joint gas and electricity went up recently to £57 per month and I am in credit at that.

I know my parents are on Staywarm and I believe they pay £60 per month for a large 3 bed bungalow. I will ask them if theirs will be going up too. £80 is too steep.

Just to reply to bonny what is your electricity bill for the year.
My £80 is for both gas and elec also they say gas is going up again so they are covering themselves. When i have rang Staywarm they say the price is worked out by how many bedrooms you have and how many people live in the house, but talking to people this dosn't seem to be so.
