Any more blademan 05-01-2006, 15:35 Firstly, you can get some great ideas from "a portrait of sheffield" by pete hill. I have nowt to do with the promotion for this book, it's just great and full of pics of sSeffield. Also, Meersbrook Park always serves up a treat. The picture of Sheffield on Wikipedia, for example, was taken from the top of Meersbrook Park. robS35 05-01-2006, 15:55 A great place to take a pic of the whole of Sheffield is from the top of Ringinglow Rd, as you can capture the leafy suburbs of Fulwood / Ranmoor, the City Centre & then way out to Meadowhall and the 2 cooling towers all in one shot. saxon51 05-01-2006, 16:01 As robS35 said, Ringinglow Rd is good, especially if you nip over to the Ox Stones* and stand on top of the tallest one. You can see about six power stations from up there, and almost the whole of Sheffield - except the bits that are beyond the hills to the north of course. * Ox Stones, if you don't already know, are behind the plantation on the left as you drive out of Sheffield, about 200m from the road. If you try using the search facility, you'll find loads of helpful suggestions in answer to your question  Search (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=1281928&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) 2wentypence 06-01-2006, 11:43 Also near Ringinglow turn right after the Norfolk Arms Pub, go past the Lama Farm and follow Road round. There is a bench with a good view, or just follow the road and pick your spot. |
