Modculture 05-01-2006, 14:10 When you say Sunday lunch, do you mean lunch on a Sunday or a roast beef kind of affair? ParsleyPie 05-01-2006, 14:22 Well if you are near the attercliffe area there is a pub called the cocked hat next to don valley stadium they do lovley sunday lunch for 4.95 and you get loads, so i wouldnt have any breakfast if i were you. me and a few people from work sometimes go down on a sunday if we are working. other than that you cant go wrong with any cavery place. neeeeeeeeeek 05-01-2006, 14:23 hillsborough barracks does good home cooked food. where are you wantign to go and what do you want to eat? Can't fault it. marinedrift 05-01-2006, 19:28 For a nice change try Thai at the Travellers in Holmesfield, gret Thai sunday food Bacala 05-01-2006, 19:48 aye the fat cats good and you can't really beat it for price... if you've got a bit more cash tho, Seasons on Abbeydale Road has just started doing sunday dinners...top drawer! Robbie Loving 05-01-2006, 19:51 the millhouse down at drakehouse do a great carvery on a sunday....... even i have been known not to be able to finish it off, and that really is saying something cause im a right fat ******* erino 05-01-2006, 20:41 The Phoenix sports and social @ Brinsworth lunches - you cant beat them I think they start next Sun 15th? naps 06-01-2006, 08:22 Originally posted by Iwork2shop Can anyone recommend anywhere a good place to go for Sunday Lunch? Where are you based, it would make it easier to make suggetstions if I knew. Hook 06-01-2006, 10:03 The Harley is "ok". I think it's 2 for £8 on a Sunday. I prefer to pop out to Hathersage and Little John's though. Massive plate load for £6.95. Keeps me going all week! sufc_tom 06-01-2006, 12:03 Originally posted by Hook The Harley is "ok". I used to go out there walking and then work up a real appetite and then stop off there on the way home. Johnh 06-01-2006, 12:10 Shepley Spitfire at Totley, no booking required, excellent!! Iwork2shop 06-01-2006, 12:47 Thanks for all the suggestions. I live at Mosborough but can travel anywhere, especially if the foods good. There's usually 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) so I'd prefer somewhere where there's loads of food i.e. a carvery perhaps, and thats not too expensive. I'd heard that the Crosspool Taver is good - is that right? defstef 06-01-2006, 13:42 Further to my earlier suggestion of Dulo's, and seeing as you've suggested a carvery: Probably one of the best Sunday lunches I've ever had is at the Castle Inn in Bradway. Been there a few times and taken me mam and dad. About 7 quid I think. Pile it on! FunkyHouse 09-01-2006, 13:17 I have heard that the Crosspool Tavern is good. There are numerous pubs in Broomhill and along Fulwood Road which offer Sunday lunches, although I think there is only one which offers a carvery and it has changed its name recently-it is set back from the main road and is huge. It also has Jazz nights on a Sunday night (last time I went that was) which was fantastic if you are in that type of mood and it is your kind of thing...! Hope this helps. Fudbeer 09-01-2006, 13:44 Toby inn at Parkhead(formerly the Wheatsheaf) do a very good carvery (they ruined it as a pub a few years back, good food though). |
