try currys by blokes mum went for an ink cartridge and came back with a leximark? printer as it was cheaper !

every time i try n print its just acting as though the printers not installed..no error messages or anything

Don't be sucked in by this - yes, you can get a Lexmark printer for thirty quid, but it will cost you double that when the ink runs out. Lexmark cartridges will set you back anywhere between £20 and £30, depending on the model! Plus the printer in question is only supplied with a colour cartridge - black needs to be bought seperately. You can use refills and own brand inks of course, but it's not recommended in the first year because it will void the warranty. I speak from experience - Lexmark are *very* particular about that!

A far better investment would be one of the lower end Canon's at about £50/£60. More outlay, but official Canon cartridges will cost you about £5.99 for black and £12.99 for colour.

i would go for an epson C64 which cost £69.99. The black cartridge is £19.99.the 3 colours are individual tanks at £9.99 each.The benefit is no wasting ink like on tri colour cartidges which is a real bonus if you do printing with say lots of yellow on it.You would then have to spend £9.99 on a yellow instead of £20 - £30 on a tri colour cartidge

I paid £69.99 for an Epson C64 from PC World and it great. I have since seen the C64 at Computer World in Meadowhall for £49.99.

A set of cartidges (four) cost me £28 from Ink Express on London Road, but there is a bloke on The Moor who sells them at £20 a set (I found this out later).
