Around the Old Church at Wentworth (http://www.wentworthvillage.net/history/the-old-church), this weekend there is a Medieval Living History Camp featuring Knights In Battle (http://www.knightsinbattle.com), the Sheffield-based medieval group.
There will be medieval combat displays, medieval cookery, the barber-surgeon's gruesome expertise, and possibly a few craftspeople at work.
Open to the public from 10am till 4pm (though probably the best time to see the bulk of the action will be between 12 and 3), this is a good chance to see the beautiful carvings inside the church and let the kids handle weapons outside it. (Or handle them yourself - you know you want to!)
See you there,
