SC-Rachael   10 #1 Posted June 23, 2011 Sheffield Cathedral is thrilled to announce that Architects of Air will be coming to Sheffield Cathedral for the first time. The most spectacular event of the year to come to South Yorkshire. Arriving from Saturday 23- Thursday 28 July. Architects of Air is an internationally renowned inflatable walk in art installation, manufactured from translucent pvc, the Luminarium, Amococo. The structure transforms natural light into a kaleidoscope of liquid light and colour spilling across labyrinthine pathways, cavernous domes and curved walls. The initial reaction is often one of wonder and delight at the unexpected beauty created ,often described as walking through a stained glass window.  With thanks to Sheffield City Council  For further details visit our website http://www.sheffieldcathedral.org See youtube clip to fully appreciate the sculpture  Opening Times Sat 10:00-19:30 last entry Sun 12:00-17:30 Mon 10:00-19:30 last entry Tues 10:00-19:30 last entry Wed 10:00-19:30 last entry* Thurs 10:00-19:30 last entry*  *Exclusively for adults Wed & Thurs 18:30-19:30  Prices Individual Ticket £3.50* Family Ticket £12.00* Group Ticket (10+) £3.00*  prices include Gift Aid  Tickets can be purchased online via our website http://www.sheffieldcathedral.org or in person on the day!  If you would like any further information, please don't hesitate to contact me.  Many Thanks  Rachael
 Share this content via...

RobWilson   10 #4 Posted July 20, 2011 I went to see this installation in Geneva a couple of years ago.  It's quirky and rather difficult to describe what it's like, but I absolutely loved it. It's not just for the kids, either.  It's an opportunity not to be missed!
 Share this content via...
