The Lantern Theatre's Festival of New Writing 2011 starts tomorrow Thursday 23rd June!
What is the Festival of New Writing?
It is a chance to see the work of unpublished writers performed on stage by the DGP. The work's shown have been chosen from scores of submissions from local writers and also those from further afield.
What is the aim of the Festival?
The Festival of New Writing is a new venture for The Lantern Theatre, which is looking to showcase up-and-coming writing/writers by providing directors and actors for performances. It is also a chance for first time directors to stretch their wings in an environment of support and encouragement where advice and guidance from seasoned directors and stage crew is readily available.
It is the first in what we hope will become a regular event for providing an opportunity for the Sheffield community to get involved in the performing arts.
When is the Festival taking place?
The Festival will run for 3 consecutive nights from 23rd-25th June 2011 at the Lantern Theatre. Curtain up at 7:30pm. We reserve the right to refuse admittance after this time.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets cost just £2.00 each and are only available on the door. Note that there will be no online booking for this event.
