The question is asked in a humorous way, Please do not use rhyming slang:)
Please do not slag off SF contributors.....unless (if you can't resist) you are prepared to be humourous...not nasty!
I am thinking of, for example, people you have encountered in normal, everyday life....AND WHY YOU THINK SO.
I think people don't think ahead too much.....
It happens with pedestrians and drivers, for example, getting them selves in to tight spots when all they needed to avoid them in the first place was to think ahead a little about where they'd find themselevs in 30 seconds time if they didn't do soemthing about it, rather than just react at the last minute.
People also read and follow instructions less - the classic cases of going in to a '10 items or less queue' with a trolley of goods and relying on people not pulling you up on it. And then acting indignant and managing to get served anyway because to get you out of the way the assistant would take too long a time. Or trying to pay with a credit card on a 'Cash Only' queue.
I'm not sure it's 'prattishness' - more a lack of thinking and rudeness.
So yes, there are.
And let's face it, I'm probably as guilty of it as the next person. :)
Joe
Inverted breeding patterns are probably the reason ;)
In days of yore, it was the doctors and lawyers who had the better chance of seeing 5-10 of their offspring into adulthood, now it's the dregs of society who bring the greater number of squalling brats into this world - funded by those who actually have jobs
Sorry :( you said humerous didn't you :suspect:

i couldn't agree with strix more...
what we are no seeing is survival of the un-fittest, so to speak. in all other species it is the strongest, most intelligent, most adaptable who survive. the pattern with people condradicts this.
we keep the ill, weak and needy alive, generally it is the people from the lower end of the gene pool that breed more, kind of a safety in numbers thing. reverse evolution if you want to call it that... just look at the way that gcse examinations are being made easier year upon year. i.e. the harder content which was previously on the exams is now being moved upwards. we are making allowances every day for the fact that as a species we are getting more "stupid". hey if the world's biggest super power can have someone like george w. in charge i rest my case.
it is just another example of the human race going backwards, take genicide for example, did you realise that over 50 million people have been killed as a result of genicide in the world over the last 100 years (source national geographic).
ultimately nature will find a way of leveling the playing field but that could well be with the extinction of our kind, who knows.
anyway in answer to the question, are there more prats out there... yes and for the foreseeable future it is only going to get worse.
