central trains 6.4%

midland mainline 6%

virgin cross country 4.6%

northern 3.9%

Yeah I will be tomorrow - London Underground £3.00 up from £2.00, 50% increase!!

How else do you think the train refurbishment and network up grades are being funded?

Not to mention all those miles and miles of pallisade fencing to stop stupid people from 'wandering' onto the tracks :rolleyes: (I don't see anybody fencing off the motorways BTW :suspect: )

Trains are more dangerous though, you don't tend to get people crossing motorways (6 lanes) whereas a lot of people, particularily in the country would cross rail lines if there was no fencing as their only two lines across - but thats no use if a train at 125mph comes round the corner :-)

I've been affected, between Sheffield and Portsmouth the fares have gone up by about a fiver, not too bad, although its crossed the £50 mark now for a return.

MML still do £6 singles anyway :-)
