View Full Version : Sheffield - london train fare (£6) richy32 02-01-2006, 00:32 iv seen them around just wondering if anybody knew how i could get hold of one? thanks richy32 Twiglet 02-01-2006, 00:39 www.thetrainline.com or www.midlandmainline.com They have limited availability but I've never had problems getting them for when I need them. Think they have to be booked at least a week in advance. richy32 02-01-2006, 00:44 thanks mate, ill have a look at that. do you just book it like a normal train i.e using the thing on the left? richy32 Alex C. 02-01-2006, 01:07 Yep, remember their only available off peak and £6 ones will need to be booked a month or so in advance sheff_minx 02-01-2006, 08:07 For a tenner you can go first class aswel ;) Free tea and coffee and nibbles all the way  Alex C. 02-01-2006, 09:50 Originally posted by sheff_minx For a tenner you can go first class aswel ;) Free tea and coffee and nibbles all the way  Its only 'at seat' during the weekends... ... and you still get free tea and coffee in standard class  sheff_minx 02-01-2006, 10:22 Originally posted by Alex C. And in standard class you don't get chocolate rice crispie cakes... It's worth the extra just for that! lol Floe 02-01-2006, 10:37 I have tried several times to get that £6 ticket. Each time I have been told that it is unavailable. Lat time I went down to London I went by coach which was £5 there and £11 back, I think. The journey was comfortable if rather long. 4 hours there and five and a half back. The annoying thing was that on my return there was yet another advert through the post advertising the £6 ticket to London!! You do need to be flexible about your travelling times when booking as there may only be one or two trains a day with £6 fares left. e.g. I've just found one on the 12.27 train to St Pancras next Tuesday. You also need to book two singles not a return and it's £6 each way. Floe 02-01-2006, 11:10 Thanks for the advice! |
