How depressing!
In town yesterday I nipped into Somerfield and they had Easter Eggs for sale:loopy:

Not the mini eggs, they had those in by Christmas Eve, but proper full sized Easter Eggs.

Other shops are also starting to stock summer clothes, it's madness:rant:

I actually work in Sommerfields, (pinstone street one) and I found it disgusting they had easter eggs for sale.

The managers responce was "We have to get a head start"

The same store had christmas things in before they had halloween stuff :loopy:

It would be interesting to see who else from this branch uses this forum :D

Christmas starts in June, Easter starts on Boxing Day, they might as well save the hassle of changing the displays and just stock everything all year round ... Three cheers for commercialisation eh :shakes:

Cadbury and Masterfoods have launched new confectionery for Easter 2006, having developed a range of flavoured bars and chocolate eggs

[Cadbury Creme Egg returns to tv in 2006 – well before the Easter rush ]

After the launch by Masterfoods of Galaxy Promises in 2005, new Galaxy Promises eggs will arrive for Easter, containing roast hazelnut and caramel crunch bars.

The company is also introducing the ‘& Friends’ range at Easter in egg form, with the array of chocolate bars that appeared at Christmas – comprising Mars, Mars Delight, Snickers and Twix – in the ‘Mars & Friends’ pack. ‘Maltesers & Friends’, filled with Maltesers, white Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels and Revels will also be launched in egg form.

Cadbury is also expanding its range. According to Mike Tipping, head of customer relations for Cadbury: “The Easter range is one of the most exciting for years, because we understand Easter as a gifting occasion and give shoppers exactly what they have asked for.”

Easter Egg Delight variants will comprise milk chocolate, white chocolate and orange flavours. The egg contains six truffle eggs and is aimed at the £4.99 price point. The range will be backed by a £4m advertising spend and complements eggs at £6.99 and £9.99.

The top-selling chocolate snacking product over Easter, Cadbury Creme Egg, is returning to television this Easter with a large ad spend. Creme Egg now have an improved recipe. The product holds 78% of the market in spite of recent competing launches.

Following the delisting of medium-sized Twirl bars and the small Chomp & Fudge eggs, the Cadbury Buttons egg is to become part of the Dairy Milk Buttons egg range in 2006.
