Hi, So sorry the title is miss leading, But this is what I would like to do... things that are fun and exciting! I have a little boy, i run a house and workfull time. Lets just say its all work and no play. I came out of a long term realationship in febuary this year and I feel a little lost and boring. I still feel like a young mom but i need some fun and thrills.

I have heard there is groups that do extreme sports and other activies, i'm not excluding walks in the parks too. I would like this threads to be a place were people can share what new and exciting things they are doing and how others can do it too.

I hear amazing things that people are doing all the time. Local go kart race's, international speed dating and tree climbing a sherwood forest go ape! Please share what you have tried or planned to do when, where costs times and who its for? a bit like a mini thread of the big thread :P

I recently started climbing at the climbing works. Really good fun and everyone is really friendly. Also signed up for that run in the park.

Depends on whether you are looking for quick-and-easy stuff you can go along to and have instant fun, or whether you are prepared to start a longer-term programme to be able to do something that fits the bill, but takes skill.

You can't get better for fun and excitement than medieval re-enactment. Just two weeks now till I'll be in a bill-block at Tewkesbury (http://www.tewkesburymedievalfestival.org), armed and armoured and fighting at the very best of my ability with 1,000 other combatants a side, including cavalry, archers, and gunners. It's a wholly immersive experience, because in the midst of a battle that size you lose awareness of the crowd and the modern world outside the field.

On a smaller side, individual combat in Knights in Battle (http://www.knightsinbattle.com)'s own shows can be as exciting as any other extreme sport. There's a little monkey-part of your brain that doesn't recognise that the guy (or girl!) swinging a sword at your head is only 'playing' - the adrenaline flows.

But of course that takes more commitment than bungee-jumping. You can come along to Knights In Battle's practice any week and start learning, but it will take time to build enough skill to be safe on the battlefield.

For a quicker bit of fun, I'd suggest Blitz (http://www.blitzjive.com/venudets.php?v=22) for Modern Jive any Wednesday or Thursday night - a quick and easy dance style to learn, and you don't need a partner
