Just been past the Meadow St Hotel in Upperthorpe and it is all boarded up. Does anyone know anything about it? It would be a shame if yet another pub was knocked down to build flats.

There is a plan to redevelop (flats, offices, shops & car-park) the whole block around this site (see here (http://planning.sheffield.gov.uk/publicaccess/dc/DcApplication/application_detailview.aspx?caseno=IOV99PNY79000&searchtype=PROPERTY&module=P1) ) but it actually excludes the Hotel property.

I would guess that they may be trying to buy the site and include it.

Ah well, at least it might mean some young blood going down the Cask and Cutler rather than the usual tubby beardoes. :D

The previous landlords who ran the meadow moved to the forest on rutland road, when they left they had built up a close relationship with 99 per cent of the customers and tokk them with them to the forest, I think the meadow shut down not long after that.
If you want a good night out go to the forest from about 10pm weekends.Thurs to Sun!!

its actually meadow street hotel in 'netherthorpe'. with was a s**t tip anyway

The person who took it over was a right mardy cow; I hope she never runs a pub again.
