Me and my partner are wanting to go away abroad next year. We have never been abroad either of us so we are really excited. We dont have loads of money especially with saving up for our wedding. But can anybody reccomend any really good sight seeing places. Not in the hills looking at boring things. But i would love to go somewhere with lots of things to see and famous sights. Just somehwere with things to do. Please help. Have you been anywhere really nice that you go back to or would love to go back to.

Thanks xxxx

Hiya clarerob,
I think you would really like Malta if you want to see plenty of sights . You can get about really cheaply using the bus service which is excellent, we went in May this year and a day ticket cost us 1.50 maltese pound (about £2.30) and we travelled all day on buses and saw some lovely sights. Or there are plenty of local tour operators you can have a day trip with for about £7.50, but don't go with any of the travel reps !!! these will cost you probably twice as much and they aren't as good. You could look here if you want, they are pretty good

good luck

Went to Barcelona in March and highly recomend it. Beautiful architecture, art museums, night life, and if you're interested in football a match at the Camp Nou is an experience you'll never forget:clap:

If your not really wanting a beach type of holiday how about giving Paris a try, cheap flights from Donny for around £50 return and try expedia.co.uk for a hotel.

Lots of world famous sights like the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Notre-Dame, Sacre-Coeur

Oh yeah, there's a beach at Barca, too and the harbour is fantastic at night.

I'd go back to Kos, Majorca, Costa Brava, or for a city break, Prague.

Rome.
It's one big museum and St Peters is awesome.
Can be a bit pricey though.

Sack Malta, the buses have statues of the virgin mary on the front of them, for you to kiss and prey that you dont die when they drive like madmen!!!, Greece is ok as long as you dont mind putting your toilet paper in the bin and not down the bog!!!, the best place i can reccomend is Cyprus, LOADS of history, drive on the same side of the road, use the same plugs as us, oh and the local beer Keo (i just had a delivery at home of 24 bottles) is fantastic.
Or for short haul then Majorca is great ;-)

I too would recommend Prague for a sight seeing holiday.
Stunning buildings, castles and picture-esque little squares, and the amazing King Charles Bridge(can be crowded, but has jazz bands and stalls and entertainers which creates a great atmosphere.(& Don't forget to touch St John's statue for luck!))
Also eating and ESPECIALLY drinking is very reasonably priced too, with some great beers for the connoisseurs amongst us!
I highly recommend it.
I also recommend Bruges and/or Brussels. Again Stunning catherdrals and bustling market squares along with historic architecture make Bruges another personal favourite of mine to visit. Again, I recommend.
Both places are relatively cheap to get to, and accomodation is inexpensive too, if you use the 'net to your advantage to seek out good value travel and rooms.
As with most City breaks,i find if you stay slightly out of the city centres, accomodation prices tend to be better value, and with Prague and Belgium, public transport (trams/buses)is so cheap it makes sense to use it.
