Having just travelled nearly 5000 Killometres through Europe and seen many different places, it made me realise what a beautifull country and a lovely City we live in.

Apart from the Mediteranean Coastline and the warmer climate, this country is far better than anything I saw, poverty squalor, filth, begging in the streets, maniac drivers, look left before stepping off the kerb, rip off prices. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stay in good old Blighty.

I saw skyscaper Hotels being constructed by the dozens, tower cranes everywhere, as I don't have access to the higher echelons of finance I couldn't tell you if the money is coming from our EEC contributions! CAN YOU?

My Dearest Mo,
I went there for the clear blue sea, golden sands, blue sky and the warm sun on the Costa Packet, sorry Costa Brava.
Warm greetings. Hal.x.

Seriously though Hal, it doesn't exactly sound like you ventured into any of the hundreds of cultural hotspots that our beloved Conintental cousins have to offer.

It's a bit harsh to judge the whole of Europe after seeing Torremolinos.

Well it wouldn't surprise me, but she IS as extinct as the other things I mentioned. If they ever existed in the first place, that is.

I bet you didn't see any traffic jams or any roadcones, though.

I'd move to Spain tomorrow.

As Dorothy said "There's no place like home"....

I too have travelled all over Europe and to the Far East and the States. I've also lived in a foreign European country for a year. Living abroad made me realise that it's easy to adapt to elsewhere and you can find good things wherever you live.....but it's nice to come home to familiarity, well stocked shops and the knowledge that the Council Tax people will always catch up with you.
