Can anyone suggest a venue for a party city centre (or near) to hold 100/175 for Thursday 8th April? Apart from Bar 101 / The Point more obsure the better....

The matilda has a room above it. It is on matilda street. You can hire .zero quite cheaply from what I have heard but it may be a bit big for what you need.

The Matilda has closed down. I'm not sure if we have a band booked into room 2 that night - if not then you can use the Classic Rock Bar. Room 2 holds up to 70 people. I appreciate you want a room that holds more, but if you are stuck or if numbers dwindle then we'll accomodate you. There's also an overspill area into room 1 where there will be a live band playing. No charge for room hire, just drink plenty of ale!

The Forum (Division Street/Devonshire Green) sometimes cordon off areas for partees.

Also have been to a few group partees of about the size you mention at Bar Matrix or Empire Bar down in town, they are functional but I think a bit trendy/studenty.

I think Vodka Revolution in West One might have a bit you can hire out too.
