Because the person who has lost their phone can get a new phone. Its not hard :) climaxchick 26-12-2005, 13:39 But how would that person get in touch with that person to inform them of the new number if he lost his previous phone with her number in it? spyro2000 26-12-2005, 13:41 Originally posted by climaxchick But how would that person get in touch with that person to inform them of the new number if he lost his previous phone with her number in it? Because anyone who loses their phone, can get their old number back. climaxchick 26-12-2005, 13:46 Neddy didn't say whether it was a contract phone or pay as you go. You can't get your number back if you're on pay as you go can you? spyro2000 26-12-2005, 13:49 Originally posted by climaxchick Neddy didn't say whether it was a contract phone or pay as you go. You can't get your number back if you're on pay as you go can you? You certainly can. They may ask you to pay a tenner or something, but you can. slinky 26-12-2005, 13:53 Originally posted by spyro2000 You certainly can. This applies whether it is payg or contract, T-Mobile charge £10.00. Runningboy 26-12-2005, 18:03 Surely Neddy just wants her number so he can text her and say 'Hi, it's Neddy. I lost my old phone and this is my new number.' t020 26-12-2005, 20:13 Off topic I know, but this has got me thinking. Presumably you could therefore claim to have lost a SIM card, get a new one with the same number sent to you, and use it in another phone? Which one would ring when someone called the number? Would they both be engaged when one was in a call? Would the credit go down on both phones after making a call with one? Phones can be locked not to accept certain telephone numbers, when I lost my other sim card years back the phone was blocked, the number was also blocked from being used in that phone.. And if thieves are clever then they would just discard the sim anyway.. muddycoffee 26-12-2005, 21:22 I knew a Jenny Woodcock, some years ago. She played in several brass bands with me and married an old mate of mine about 10 years ago so now has a different surname. If it is the same one PM me. |
