And my shoulder could clearly be seen on the news, as I stood behind Scargill in 1984 outside the City Hall....!!!!!
Anyone here had their 15 minutes of fame.

blimey! i remember your shoulder, a brilliant performance too.
Does it have an agent and any chance of an autograph?
A.B.Yaffle 24-12-2005, 21:03 I've been on TV a few times over the years, including News at 10, Nationwide, and more recently Newsround.
I was on Tv when i was 5, when my mum used to take me and my brother for walks in the woods or something i dont remember much
I've been on 15 - 1 a few years ago, didn't win tho'
Loads of times Ball boy at the wednesday matches in the late 70s-80s...:hihi: sad i know... sky news end of last season did a interview.... talk about kiss of death...:hihi:
once for 5 seconds on the saturday kids show, Fully Booked. i was 10 and at a boyzone concert with 2 friends and i spotted Tim Vincent. totally embarassed myself!!
Preacher Man 24-12-2005, 22:19 on cduk a month or two ago. they filmed at trippets and i am clearly on screen for a whole second :D
Several times, but mostly through working for tv.
Trisha (*shudders*) - my high school did a 'trip' to see a recording. Shame they edited out everyone shouting abuse at the people actually on the show. I got to sit behind Trisha and read her card for 2 hours
Channel 4 Racing - been in shot loads of times as part of my work for them.
Athens Olympics - Softball - I spent two days behind the batting square looking after the 'umpire cam'. Which mostly involved sleeping in the sun. Was supposed to do the same on the day that Paula Radcliffe dropped out of the marathon, but it was ridiuously hot that day. 41 degrees C in the shade! Spent the day inside the nice air conditioned refreshment tent instead.

sparklygem 25-12-2005, 10:54 I haven't, but my mum was on a couple of weeks ago, on look north giving blood!
Made the ITV News bulletins on Christmas Day 1987!!
It was while I was in the Royal Navy during the Iran/Iraq war and ITV did a news special about life onboard a warship in the Gulf on Christmas Day. Funny thing was that it was only early December when it was recorded and we had left the Gulf area and were actually in Mauritius for Christmas!. We were told about it at the last minute and had to hurriedly decorate our mess overnight! I seem to remember that it was all filmed first thing in the morning and we had to look like we were really in the Christmas spirit. So there we were, having been on shift since 2am, knackered and drinking cans of beer and singing loudly just for the cameras! Surreal to say the least!!

sheff utd played bradford a few years ago on boxing day,it was live on sky......i ran on the pitch and celebrated with marcello when he scored......if anyone has that match on video any chance of doin me a copy:thumbsup:
I could've been on Calendar back in 98 from Burton St School in Hillsborough, as I was the "Foreman" of the renovation of the School back when I was on the Prince's Trust, but at the time I'd gone for an interview for a voluntary job working for Oxfam's campaigns office on Glossop Road.
I got teh job as well!
ladyacademic 25-12-2005, 11:47 Mastermind, can't remember which year, recorded at the National Railway Museum in York. Came last in my heat - did OK on the general knowledge but fell woefully short on my specialist subject, the Vikings :-(

I was knicked for speeding on my bike in 2000 and appeared on all the local news programmes and the papers national and local including radio 2s Jimmy young as a topic.
Really embarrassing listening to them talking about me.
They never asked my opinion though.
BobDaBuilder 26-12-2005, 15:18 I was on telly as a nipper gettin a kiss on the cheek from princess di in Berlin early 80's...and she even complimented mine and my sisters horrid, sky blue, spray on jackets...SSVC, still got the video to this day collectin dust.
My wife and I have been on 'Vanessa' (twice)
My wife has also been on Good Morning with Anne & Nick, Friday Live and News at Ten
royjames 26-12-2005, 15:20 Yes last year I gave a interview along with others to YTV for a prog on politics in yorkshire.
was on kilroy years ago ,what a complete set up that show was,he only spoke to people that had been strategically placed in the seats they wanted them in,he is an ignorant g*t
Several times....
Approached by researchers and asked to appear (and dance with my mates) on "Dance Energy" @ BBC Manchester, filmed 12 shows - 6 on one Saturday, and the following 6, a week later.
Met lots of Soul/House/Hip Hop artists/acts. Great laugh too.
(Normski is full of himself, and clearly needs to get :help: )
Also, I was asked to be an 'extra' in "Threads", and run down the Moor, I don't remember seeing myself in the film, but the experience was ace.
I'll think of more when I'm a lil' more sober.
:?
Internetowl 26-12-2005, 21:11 Yes, BBC News 1982 - up to my knees in wet peat...cold, wet and very scared - but still alive today so it couldn't have been that bad could it?
FairyNormal 26-12-2005, 23:03 I was in an advert for Klick Photoshop when I was about 11 or 12.
I was on "Where there's life" with Dr Miriam Stoppard when I was 16. It was a programme about education and I was a mad goth! She spoke to me first and said I had the most amazing hairstyle she had ever seen!! (huge black back combed creation!)
I was on Calendar news several times during the Kelvin Flats clearance as I was chair of the tenants group at the time.
About 4 years ago, a friend and I filmed an audition tape to be on Louis Thereaux's weird weekend. We were due to do the filming but the show was pulled at the last minute due to some questions about its content and was replaced by one about Keith Harris and Orvill in pantomime!!! To say I was gutted was an understatement!
hotdogbird 27-12-2005, 00:35 STARS IN THEIR EYES
third row back 2nd seat in:gag:
When I was just 7 I appeared on Breakfast TV with a room-full of other dancing school kids. I was right on the front row doing a very basic tap routine that we were told to do for the camera, looking down at my feet the whole time.
The story was about the dancing school (Constance Grants on Psalter Lane) and the head teacher of the school was seen dancing in circles around Russell Grant while he read out the daily horoscopes.
Let the mocking commence.

didnt you also post you got bullied...... :suspect:
HappyHoosier 27-12-2005, 19:16 When I was 12, I was on a locally produced children's program called "Zoo's Who." I presented a narrative and slide show that I wrote and photographed at our local zoo for a school project. Unfortunately, I was upstaged by a racoon that kept climbing up my clip-on microphone cord and chewing on my hair.
I knew then that print journalism -- not TV -- was the medium for me.
weenireeni 27-12-2005, 20:16 ive been on local news (lincolnshire news should i say!) , aged 11 singing choir solos, soooo embarrassing! also me and boyf went to watch 'the farm', was an eviction night and we were stood behind colin and justin so very nice shots of us grinning like goons!
but might audition for x factor this year and be appallingly awful on purpose, just to get money and fame!
I was on Look North when they were promoting the Yorkshire Outlet a fair few years back, I was serving a customer whilst they filmed me.... I remember struggling to fit a toy some kid bought in a bag - typical they showed it on TV!
I was also on a ghost hunt programe on Living TV, it was the worlds biggest ghost hunt at Tutbery Castle. You can see me trying to pitch my tent whilst drunk and in the rain - then I'm running to the car for shelter.
Me and TV don't go well together, both embarasing moments!
"With a little help from my friends" with Paul Burrell, filmed at my house last summer, i was in the background a few times and my voice was used on a phone call! And if im been honest, i wish i hadnt had that much to do with it, it was totally bo-lax, made the village where i live, out to be really bad and all of us to look like scrubbers, when really, its a bloody decent area, alot of the TV crew were really nice, just doing thier job i suppose and Paul Burrell himself wasnt really that "RA RA" but, Jamie Theakston, well jesus H crist, i would like to dot him, total cock!!
littleboo 27-12-2005, 23:38 I was on calendar a good few years ago, used to work in Athena Card shop on the moor and one day the Chippendale's came in with hoards of girls and the calendar camera crew. they so loved themselves it was sickly:gag:
TheBlueDragon 28-12-2005, 00:13 I have been on twice.
The first time was when I was about 9-10 and I was on GMTV. the second time was when I won an aword "The Child Of Achievment Award"

does this count - we are caterers and in about 1987 I think Dire Straits were shooting a video @ the Arena and one of our Sandwiches appeared on the video I believ it was Randy Quaid eating it
Spent 2 days doing direct line advert on Hunter House Lane. With the advert with the guy in a balloon (former Emmerdale actor). Throwing money down. There for 2 days had to stop the video to find myself.
Not been on telly but been on radio (Sheffield) a few year ago for Children in Need
dickdick69 29-12-2005, 09:58 i was on emmerdale a few years ago, i was a extra at a newyears eve party just after dave had died! and mandy dingle was in mourning, it was held in pollards wine bar, i had quite a few scenes but mainly was sat at the bar getting served by mandy.it was a gud laugh and the alchohol was real and free. wouldnt recommend it for a job though loads of outakes and waiting around.
I was interviewed on BBC "Inside Out" last year - and a few people saw it too!
i was on crimewatch last year or at least my picture was . the copper bird said we are desperately seeking this man for selling the cheapest fags in sheffield
Don_Kiddick 02-01-2006, 22:37 I appeared on Calender for a nano-second once.

Then my daughter and I were extras in Faith (BBC 1 March 2005.a drama about the 1984 miners strike)........we filmed it in the previous November and it was freezing cold. We were there from 7.30 in the morning until about 3 in the afternoon and when the programme was shown we were in it for about 5 seconds!.........blink and you missed us!!
But we had a great day and met some great people...........so Vaughan, Sara and Shaun if you come across this give us a reply and we can carry on laughing!!
TheRedWizard 02-01-2006, 22:59 1995 Cup Final: 3 seconds close up. Looking gutted.
Match of the Day: For a whole season in the closing credits.
Running across Tudor Square with a placard, towards a rapidly vanishing black car containing a certain T.Blair.
TRW (Red for various reasons!!!!)
Waltheof 02-01-2006, 23:43 Some years ago when the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves came out, I was consulted by Calendar about the kind of language used at the historical time of RH (my specialty being Old and Middle English studies) and was filmed talking about it. To my amazement it was used and went on for about 5 minutes. Only 10 more minutes to go for my 15 minutes of fame...
I also did an interview about language to be broadcast on Canadian radio, and I've been on Radio Sheffield a few times, talking about the General Cemetery and other things.

Rachylou 03-01-2006, 19:09 men and motors.....me and my sister were really drunk and being interviewed by a programme called ..uk uncovered'.. in chesterfield town center. They were just asking stupid questions like...."if you had to choose would you drink a bucket of sick or a bucket of snot?????...to which i replied something like .."a bucket of sick if it had lager in it!!!....must have thought that were really funny at the time (about 9 yrs ago)...dont think its so funny now when repeats are shown and other parents at my daughters well respected school tell me ..."i saw you on tv last night"....ive yet to see it tho!...hopefully never will
AtticusFinch 03-01-2006, 21:50 I've been on twice.
The first time was as an audience member for "The Movie Game", a kids TV and film quiz on BBC hosted by Jonathan Morris. Two people from my middle school were one of the three teams, and I was in the front row of the audience. I used to bite my nails a lot then (I still do a bit now), and every time I was in shot I seemed to be biting them.
The second time was on "Clubavision", a late night club programme on ITV. At the time I was a dedicated happy hardcore raver and they were recorded from the one and only Helter Skelter in October 1999. Me and two girls who'd come raving with us queued up to be interviewed on camera. I said something along the lines of "Helter Skelter is amazing, the best night out in the entire country". Then later on there were about two clips of me dancing, although I hadn't noticed that the camera was there. I was wearing a yellow UV waistcoat and had a whistle round my neck. :hihi: :hihi:
Twice
The first time was back in 1967-68, when Fife (Hello im standing here) Robinson did a documentary on sheffield schools and he chose Wybourn, can anyone remember that?
The second time was at a sheff united match, i told my gaffer i was sick that saturday and knocked work but he saw me on the tele, luckily i didn't get the sack.
Agent Orange 04-01-2006, 08:53 I was an extra in a film called ID and was part of an hooligan gang throwing bricks at the police. Unfortunately, there were a number of us so I can't be seen amongst the crowd :(. Was great fun though and wouldn't mind doing summat like that again!!
