Does anyone know how you stop the list of websites coming up that you have visited, the ones in the drop down menu. I just hate nosy people scrolling to see what you have been on.
I dont mind people knowing what sites ive been on, I just hate noseyness.
Im not talking about the actualy 'history' that you can look at by pressing CTRL + H, because people have to be extra nosey to do that.
Im no good at explaining things so see here (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b195/spyro2000/sf.jpg) to know what list im going on about.
Cheers
If you do a 'Clear History' from Tools, Internet Options then that will empty this list.
I'm not sure how to permanently stop it being updated though.

Cheers...
What is is though, I want to keep the 'history', but Its just the drop down list that i dont like, and the also when people start to type in a web address when it gives you sites that you have been on that start with the same letters (if that makes any sense) that I want to get rid of.

I think that's called url autocomplete and is a different option in the same section where you clear the history.
Hiya spyro,
Autocomplete - where it fills out the URL as you type it - go to Tools, Internet Options, Content, Personal Information, Autocomplete - allows you to turn it all off.
The drop down list retains the last 25 URLs typed in to the address bar - so if you select from your favourites menu or another link-based page you shouldn't see them appearing there! Best I can suggest, I'm afraid.

It could be worth getting Webroot's Window Washer. It clears internet history, cookies, previously used file lists in most applications and so on.
Granted, you can do most of this yourself for free, but this is one handy app that does it all for you.
