pk014b7161 23-12-2005, 11:55 well no doubt if it is arson it will be looked upon as a prank that went wrong and the culprits made to do community service or some other harsh punishment
Beakerzoid 23-12-2005, 16:24 Here's hoping the scum that set fire to the bin get a proper sentence. I have no doubt it is the same scum who keep smashing the glass on the nearby bus-stop, and also enjoy setting fire to the dry stores on the nearby maisonettes. (In case you can't guess, I live a stones throw from the fire last night, and my heart goes out to the guy who has lost his parents through this.)
UpTheBlades 23-12-2005, 20:38 my mum and fiance was the ones who got the old lady out they tried to get to the other couple out but couldnt as the flames were to intense the man was shouting for help they told him they where coming but they didnt see him again.as u can imagine they are both really devistated as we lived behind them for about 20 years.it made me check my smoke alarm first thing this morning
how many people have checked there smoke alarms recently?

The police are treating it as murder, so thankfully this won't be the case.
My thoughts go out to the family.

I heard on the early morning news that three people had been arrested for starting the fire, so hopefully the poice will be able to keep them safely tucked up over Christmas and for many years to come if the are proved guilty.
alchresearch 24-12-2005, 11:08 The son has also died.
UptheBlades - your folks made a fantastic effort, I'm sure we all agree.

lizzmobile 24-12-2005, 17:51 The son was taught by my dad when he was at school. He also did wood carving with the father at nightschool.
There are no words to describe the filth that did this, and somebody knows who it was.
UpTheBlades, this must have been awful for them to know that he was still in there, but top hats off for going in. What courage!
I always end up in tears at Christmas. There is no name for this.
Plain Talker 24-12-2005, 18:14 how horrible. what a "super" christmas this will be for their family and friends! (not!)

pk014b7161 26-12-2005, 19:03 i read that the son who was murdered with his parents and they was murdered forget manslaughter. was blind can you
imagine his terror whats up with these idiots they knew who was in that house and still went and did that, knowing full well what could happen to those inside i hope who ever has done this evil thing reap what they have sown
Plain Talker 26-12-2005, 21:34 The construction of those Vic Hallam houses are absolute garbage; talk about a fire hazard!
They are mostly wood in construction, so naturally, the slightest flame, and they are gonna go up like a bloomin' tinderbox!
(and no, that's not absolving thse little ****'s of what they did, they must have had enough sense, when they put the wheelie bin up against that wall, to know that the wood is going to go up like bonfire night...
PT
Vic Hallam houses do have remarkable fire resistant properties. Despite what people think, wood is very difficult t burn without a sustained naked flame placed against it - as in this instance.
This is such a sad event, but it's not the time for analysis such as this. The Police are doing their job and are questioning people - let's leave them to it without any sub-judice discussion please.
:(
Why have these little ***** been sent home on police bail to enjoy christmas and new year with their families. The police must KNOW or they wouldn't have held them so quickly in the first place:loopy:
