According to a recent survey Sheffield people are considered the most active and healthiest people in the UK. Apparently the reason for this is the close location of the Peak District. :o :)
Do you think that these type of surveys are at all accurate?

I think it depends on the people they ask! although i do know quite a few people who go to the gym regularly.
I think its because of all the hills we have to walk up!
Even a short stroll to the shops/pub involves some kind of incline in Sheffield!
Umm surveys - the data is probably correct - but I think you always need to take interpretations with a pinch of salt.
For example you could think about it this way, lots of people interested in climbing and outdoor pursuits (and who are therefore possibly fit and healthy) may move to Sheffield because of its proximity to the Peaks.
However, this does still mean that Sheffield has/may have a high proportion of fit people.
...because of early buses as well as late. If buses are early we end up running to catch them and if they're late we walk on a couple of stops until the next one is due or walk to another stop.
Well that's my story.
.......or walk to another bus route.
Well, something doesn't add up because I have heard a report on the radio this morning that South Yorkshire people are officially the most unhealthy people in Britain.
